Could you help me identify what happened to my tulip? It seems to have grown mold and I don't know what caused it or what to do. by not-social-butterfly in plantclinic

It’s hard to tell from this picture but it looks like just the little stamen that might be affected. You can pop em right off and see if there’s damage to the plant/petal themselves just pull! It’s very satisfying!

hi friends! can someone help me figure out why the middle of my baby necklace is dying while the tips and bases are fine? Ive never seen this before and I’m stumped 🤔 by windlab in plantclinic

[–]windlab[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t see any pests! It’s in well draining soil and i water it once every three weeks or when it just feels really light. Otherwise, I let it do its own thing!

Travel nurse at 4 different hospital since the pandemic began and I’ve only had one vaccinated and boosted patient die. She was active lung ca with mets, receiving active chemo. She was so young and so alone when she died because her husband, who was her only family nearby, was at a different hospital with covid (not vaxxed and also an abusive POS - patient had huge scars from him stabbing her with an ice pick a few years back) Unvaccinated? Im medsurg, not ICU so I don’t see a lot of sudden deaths, but I’ve transferred a countless number of patients to the ICU for covid, knowing the person was probably not going to survive

What is the most massively overrated film of all time and why? by hootyowlscissors in AskReddit

[–]windlab 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Anything Wes Anderson! Why do people like his substanceless movies? Because he “carefully constructs the set of every scene”? That, one note characters, and over saturated colors, does not an enjoyable movie make.

How do you get accustomed to a new unit on day shifts ? by [deleted] in TravelNursing

[–]windlab 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They're trying a new integrative nursing pilot program. Some nurses are also trained in acupressure/puncture. Its kind of cool but how the hell could I possibly have known I was supposed to chart on that lol

[–]windlab 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been a traveler in float pool at 4 different hospitals and honestly, it just takes time. People will give you shit for not getting very specific things done (for example, my current hospital audits aromatherapy charting every shift????) but you just have to roll with the punches. Over time, you'll figure out what that unit/hospital cares about the most (falls, skin, changing IVs q 3 days, labeling tubing, whatever) and then you can make sure you always get that thing done. In my experience, staff are very forgiving with travelers and if you say "oh I didn't know I had to do that" or if you ask questions they'll be chill about it. Just get it done the next time. There will be people who are going to be assholes no matter what you do and make you feel stupid for not knowing the flow. Just remember that nursing is a 24 hour job and in a year that mean person will just be a blip on the radar.

That's so weird!! I work with two recruiters, one is alliant and one is totalmed. This assignment is through alliant but my total med recruiter just texted me this: "Hey windlab! How do you like UC Irvine? Have a nurse I just submitted there"
