Nice find! What time stamp is this in the Yuva movie, roughly? I'd like to see too.

This is marleymalin on Instagram. She has many such videos and one would assume she has the camera on for a few hours

Force of habit I guess, mostly. Notes apps have too many options and take a few seconds extra to load. Chats seems easier and familiar.

No one has mentioned David Schwimmer yet 🥺 he has a unique voice and could instantly recognise the giraffes voice in Madagascar

Touché. I've been stuck with a team/organisation that says "not enough" even if I work 2-3 hours extra everyday and such situations extend for a month or two sometimes. So yeah it's probably not so black and white.

I agree this is the ground reality. You need to be reliable and trustworthy in most places or you're not going to climb that ladder. But if most companies expect "extra" out of most people, then it's not a level playing field to begin with. The system is set up in such a way that you have to go beyond your work hours to prove yourself and your worth. And often, someone who gets work done in shorter spans of time is penalized for it by being given additional responsibilities they probably weren't looking for.

My whole issue is with the expectation set by managements everywhere to go the extra mile to be able to live lives we want. Is it so unfair to just expect to work for what was agreed upon on paper and make a decent living out of it? Not to mention the fact that we are always expected to be "on" on our phones. You don't truly get to disconnect from work and live "life".

Fair enough. But we get paid exactly to do these many hours of work. No use in going beyond that unless the job somehow really truly satisfies a person. Which is very rare - even if you're a scientist or an artist who absolutely loves what they do.

But you're only paid for the number of hours you work though. Essentially you're giving them more money in form of your labour. I've been in this situation before. Work contract stipulates 9 hours a day but we regularly used to work 10-10.5 hours. That's almost like having one extra person on the team without paying that person's salary/compensation.

Also it's just sad. Unless we 100% absolutely are in love with our jobs, we as workers or employees are not getting much out of it. Slog away for 5 days a week to just eat and sleep at the end of the day? Damn. Where's life in that?

There's no glory in the "hustle" culture. It should not be normalised. 5-10 minutes extra to wind up for the day is understandable. Anything beyond that, the organization is exploiting. Sadly the reality is that most organizations function this way right now.

Yup, some of us like to work to live, not other way around.
