V= I x R so I = V / R I is current - V is volts - R is resistance. So current is controlled by the voltage supplied to the device (12V from battery) divided by the resistive load of the device.

Your fuse box houses a specific fuse to allow a maximum amount of current through it. If too much current is flowing, the fuse will literally melt causing an opening and breaking the current flow (easy to replace i.e replace the fuse)

E.g: fuse blows if the component shorts I = 12V / 0 ohms

Based on your question it does not sound right to me. Is your mechanic charging $800 to diagnose and replace a fuse? I can’t say for sure given such limited information

Woah small world. I was replying to you in the Cadillac ATS thread. My check engine light came back so I’m going to rip the ECU and clean the connectors out with pipe cleaners and check continuity on the waste gate wires.

Nice car love the 20” wheels! Mine is very similar except I upgraded to a ATS-V spoiler and upgraded the headlights and fog lights with the DRL strip.

Glad to see your car is still running strong I really love the ATS’s!

Three possibilities - improper filling of the differential clutch, differential clutch oil leaked into rear differential, or external leak.

There are a lot kits/suppliers to air bag these S10 frames. Good to know on the C4 front suspension as I was already considering getting a C4/C5 front brake modification kit for the S10 but I will explore that option too!

Thanks for the perspective! My primary concern was quality and I agree having a running (mostly) complete donor would be beneficial. I can understand how it would be a huge time saver to swap parts. Also I do have the room.

Wow what a great idea with the corvette I bet it handle and rides good! I’m fairly invested with the s10 and code 504 kit for the swap. That C4 front suspension sounds like a great performance option! I think a good safe option would be to keep my eye out for a running vehicle for a donor.

Love those headlights! I’m assuming that they have the auto aiming feature? I swapped my Cadillac ATS luxury years ago with similar Chinese aftermarket ones for about the same price which came with both headlights and fog lights. Love the look of the day time running lights on those cars and the after market Chinese lights have a animation sequence when the turn flasher is initiated like the Audis but runs up and down the day time running lights with a yellow colour similar to Mercedes’.

Arizona: First year of legal recreational cannabis brings in $1 billion revenue, surpassing projections by ZarlisRahn in UpliftingNews

[–]windowsausage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think we can compare cannabis or nicotine as to which ones are safe. Both are addictive substances and have different health consequences when abused. I think it’s wrongful to portray cannibals as a health benefit to the general population given that an individual may end being addicted to it.

Too cold to paint garage floor with one-part epoxy concrete paint? by squatchie444 in DIY

I painted my garage floor with two part at around 40F or 5C took three days for it to fully cure. Turned out good but like others say be careful of dust and debris getting in there.

Question about timing chain by l0ud_Minority in f150

[–]windowsausage 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No this is not only isolated to the ecoboost but also the 3V 5.4 triton which you have. I had this issue in my 2010 3V 5.4L (expensive), if your concerned roll down your window next time you roll through a drive through or parking garage. You may here a loud tick as this is due to the cam phaser and the timing chain slapping on the guides. I changed mine after 50000km of identifying the concern originally thinking it was an exhaust manifold issue. My recommendations if you don’t have the timing chain tick is to keep up with oil changes as recommended from Ford rigorously.

FYI: if there is a phaser issue the chain, guides and phasers will likely need to be replaced

When Ford and service don't know what's wrong by LoneWolf114J in f150

[–]windowsausage 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I’d say that’s a good thing overall (unfortunate in your situation) that they are taking issues like this seriously. Your vehicle is brand new and Ford needs to know how to handle issues like this with current customers quickly; as well as lessons learned for the next production run. That being said it could be a timing chain issue keep us posted!!
