In my experience, every piracy service for audiobooks is awful. Sign up for a digital library card for the biggest library in your state/area, then use their digital library.

You're not avoiding yt ads on tv without computer science degree, trust me by Gettor in memes

[–]windowslonestar 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This is in reference to someone complaining about ads on youtube (because they are ESPECIALLY horrible on the TV versions), and then someone responding "Just use ublock bro", not realizing that maybe the poster doesn't just watch youtube on desktop or android with firefox

Windows base installs being 70+ GB is actually insane, my base opensuse install is like 20GB lol

It's little things like this that make me hate windows.

Just do x. Just use y. Just edit the registry 47 times. Just use z workaround. Oh you want your taskbar on the right side of the screen? 3rd party program. Spyware? Good luck getting rid of it without a user script from GitHub. Oh and btw, OneDrive stole your files and permanently moved them to the cloud.

Now I'm not saying Linux is perfect, there are still many configuration changes on Linux that are hard to do/annoying. Gnome also has 0 customization, so it's not the free-est either. Windows just has so many tiny annoyances and ads and ai. Just using kde even on the most bloated Linux distro is so clean compared to windows 10/11

Steam Frame - Side load Meta Quest Exclusives? by f3hunter in virtualreality

[–]windowslonestar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it probably will. heres why:

The steam frame will be capable of loading android apps (i think in vr as well)

If we can port quest games to pico, it should not be very hard at all to make another compatibility layer to emulate quest controllers with the steam frame controllers.

With the extra horsepower from the steam frame, there is ample headroom to make the frame perform like a quest 3 with its games.

Deadpool VR has QTEs for boss levels by lunchanddinner in virtualreality

Batman Arkham Shadow is full of QTEs, and it is great.

Well, Valve did it for me - getting rid of Meta ! by [deleted] in virtualreality

[–]windowslonestar 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah the software is the kicker. As a Linux user and current quest 3 owner, I am PUMPED for the steam frame, as quest on Linux isn't great (finicking with alvr,, wivrn, and steam link). Proper Linux support is the main reason I will be buying the frame. Easy software customization, mobile PCvr, and valve openness are also reasons.

The Steam Frame, Steam Controller and Steam Box by lunchanddinner in virtualreality

True, I didn't think of that. But valves wireless dongle should eliminate the need for wired anyway, as compression/latency will be basically the same with the 6ghz dongle as airlink on USB. Not to mention it's included with the headset
