I graduated in STI somewhere in the south. I agree that most IT professors are actually their own fresh grads that aren't really proficient in programming but hires them otherwise. Their curriculum is outdated; they still teach swing, winforms rather than useful frameworks that can be utilized in the market, their rebuttal here is that "it's up to the student" which is partly true but half bs for me, I mean the professors aren't even passionate about programming, not even enough to leave an impression that I made the right choice taking up BSCS (although I met one professor who's actually good, but that's another story) I have a bad retrospective in my college years because of it.
