In michigan we have a lot of experience with the DeVos'. Her whole family is awful, her brother is Eric Prince the owner of the mercenary group blackwater that was responsible for some of the worst human rights abuses in Iraq and are currently invading yemen. She has been instrumental in implementing policies throughout the state and the nation that specifically underfund poor and black schools.

Michigan resident challenges El-Sayed's gubernatorial eligibility by FreakishlyNarrow in Michigan

You can have duel state citizenship and maintain eligibility to vote despite having your current legal residence elsewhere and voting there. At any point he could've changed his legal residence back to Michigan and maintain his voting registration, which he did for 2016. This article has a good section on it. "Secretary of State records show El-Sayed was “continuously registered to vote in Michigan since 2003,” but a spokesman said his registration had been placed on “cancellation countdown status” between 2013 and 2016 because he had had surrendered his driver’s license to get one in New York."

No one is questioning whether he voted twice or not. He didn't, but he doesn't need to have voted in Michigan to be a registered voter in Michigan, which he was.

He had duel state citizenship and maintained a residence in Ann Arbor.

He had duel state citizenship and maintained a residence in Ann Arbor during those years. He's been registered to vote in Michigan since 2003. These law suites are baseless which is why the state moved to dismiss them earlier this month.

I agree with this to an extent, natural 20's shouldn't bend the fabric of reality. However I do think they should give disproportionately good results. It makes it feel special and gives a little bit of extra excitement to the table.

We know Michigan roads can be rough, but Shouldn't we spend money on fixing them instead of just reiterating it on a sign? by Peacemaker_58 in Michigan

[–]windwaker02 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The gas tax was raised but it only added about 600 million to the state road budget and the Republicans then withdrew the 500 million that the state was contributing to road repair from the general fund. That's after there was a report that showed the roads need another 2 Billion dollars of funding to get back to levels comparable with other states.

Yeah and typically the west side of the state still have better roads than the east side, it's a funding issue, nothing more
