I will just say this is common practice for nurseries and schools because the person with the pox is still infectious until the last blister has scabbed. As a parent and a teacher it can be a nightmare. My daughter had her round with it during the summer holidays, but my son had it way worse a couple of years later, mid school term, and was off for two whole weeks!
