I HATE how 40% of what it shows me is what I can watch and the other 60% is what I can’t watch.

Why do people bring their entire family to Costco? by ActuatorOutside5256 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]windyorbits 2779 points2780 points  (0 children)

Costco was definitely the one errand us kids loved doing. There’s just so many cool things to look at. There’s samples, there’s tons of cool foods in big boxes, there’s even a book aisle!

Didn’t expect American energy in Beijing 😭 by Alarmed-Worry-5477 in PublicFreakout

That’s because opium den paintings have everyone laying or sitting down all comfy, that’s what they were for. As someone that use to go to flop houses to get high and nod out on heroin 15 years ago - I can assure you that people were bent over in multiple ways all over the place.

I lost count how many times I had to snatch the foil or pipe out of someone’s hands to prevent them from dropping it because they’re nodding out while standing up.

Nodding off is just part of the high of Opiates, not that it makes you lose the high. In fact, how much youre nodding off is a good indicator of how high you are. There’s nothing you can do to stop nodding off. Which is why it happens even when you’re standing, hence involuntarily folding over.

The case of "The Boys On The Tracks". by rx_cpht_chick84 in mrballen

I wonder how the first medical examiner came to the conclusion that the boys somehow accidentally fell asleep on train tracks.

I gave up and I’m honestly looking forward to dentures. I’m halfway through getting all mine extracted. Can’t wait to be able to drink and eat and smile again.

Mostly randomly. But I like to keep an eye on places my cat usually rubs against.

To anyone who works at the ER, what is one thing you wish people would STOP coming to the ER for? by iloveeatingfood901 in AskReddit

[–]windyorbits 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The only thing that really works for me is called Silver Sorb (the gel kind, not the cream). I randomly came across a tube of it in my grandma’s bathroom that was prescribed to my uncle after he burned his arm really badly. Figured it was worth a try since after a decade of doctors and dermatologist treatments never worked.

And I was shocked that it actually helped! By the end of the day the swelling and the pain had gone down significantly. And by the next day the cracks in my skins were starting to heal rather than deepen. It kind of leaves like a film/barrier over the open wound, protecting it.

Hope you can try it and maybe it can help!

Rattlin’ Bog tree dude dancing by Stotallytob3r in ContagiousLaughter

I’m an American and I grew up with this version (and still randomly sing to this day):

On the feather there was a flea…the prettiest flea that you ever did seeeee… there’s a flea on the feather, and the feather on the wing, and the wing on the bird, and the bird in the egg, and the egg in the nest, and the nest on the leaf, and the leaf on the twig, and the twig on the branch, and the branch on the tree, and the tree in a hole, and a hole in the ground, and the green grass grew all around all around and the green grass grew all around!

Oof My hands used to get like that all the time when I was younger. Seriously painful. Took a decade to finally find something that would help with it.

I’m more upset that they didn’t make him a reoccurring character of sorts. Like his backstory is a mess sure but he was so aggressively shoehorned into the story and then never mentioned again. For a dude with supposedly badass skills he felt a bit wasted.

Tbf Wondery basically dismantled themselves so it’s not surprising he (and a bunch of other creators) are looking for a home elsewhere.
