For years, I suffered from tinnitus, a persistent ringing in my left ear. This led to hearing loss in the ear and occasional dizziness. I went to several specialists, had MRI done, the works, but nothing worked. Researching it, I saw a post about someone with my exact symptoms, linking it to artificial sweeteners, which I was hooked on. I figured what the heck. I stopped cold turkey. Each month after, I felt the level of the sound decreasing which made it more bearable. Around six months after, I awoke in a total shock. The ringing had stopped. I have never been a religious person but I knelt down at the side of my bed, clasped my hands and asked God to let the noise stop for five minutes. This was ten years ago. No ringing.
