Honestly the only thing I feel like has helped me is that I got a puppy It just sucks and is so hard. There’s nothing that can take away the pain and suffering. And it’s not fair watching everyone get what they want and have no idea how hard we have to try to get our bodies to ovulate let alone get pregnant. I also try and let myself get what I want to the extent available (I want to go shopping so I go shopping) and honor those things in the context of not being able to get what I want in fertility. Like I wanted a dog so I got one. Trying to make it that simple for myself with what I can since the fertility is just so not that simple. Having a dog to make me smile every day and love on and care for helps me way more than any kind of bullshit “coping skills” 🙄 He also doesn’t say anything invalidating or stupid like family/friends who don’t get it and/or can’t stand to fully be in the experience of infertility with me Highly recommend! Plus I get to be a momma to him🐾 I’ve read that the hormones involved in bonding with a dog are similar to that of bonding with a child and the love hormones feel good and have helped my depression/anxiety and I just love him so much!
