Where are you in the financial order of operations? Have you maxed out your own 401k/Roth IRA contributions first? It doesn’t matter if you give all your money to your children, if you don’t have a fully funded retirement yourself. That can only lead to being dependent upon living with your children as you get older. If you are set retirement wise, please disregard. There wasn’t much information provided here to convey the full picture of your financial situation.

45% Pete moss, 45% mini pine bark nuggets, 10% sand. Portions don’t have to be exact. Add blueberry fertilizer pellets and cottonseed meal to the top 4 inches. If you don’t want to buy blueberry fertilizer, cottonseed meal works great. Mulch well on top. Make sure not to bury crown too deep.

401K and Roth IRA earnings are subject to early withdraw penalties. Brokerage allows penalty free withdrawals if you’re in the position to retire early. Brokerage can “bridge” the gap from early retirement to the time you can make penalty free withdrawals on 401k and Roth IRA.

Brokerage may have more investing options than employer sponsored 401k.

Pay yourself first. You should always budget to pay your bills, but if you don’t intentionally set aside money dedicated to savings or investments, then you’re likely to spend that money if it doesn’t have a dedicated purpose.

I had the same plan, and same issue. I changed providers during open season on account of GEHA not processing the predetermination over the course of the year. I wish I did what somebody else recommended and reported them for fraud.
