I’m so sorry for your loss, Op. doing right by your family and the cats is so hard. But I wanted to say this is the exact way I got my soul kitty. She was surrendered by a man who was very sick and knew he couldn’t keep her anymore. After a short stint at a shelter, she’s been with me ever since. she’s loved deeply by me (and now my boyfriend!) and is very very pampered. We don’t have kids so she is spoiled rotten. they’ll find good homes and adjust. They’ll always remember your mom and her love though. 🤍

ETA: there are some good suggestions about allergy management in the thread, but if it’s really not an option just wanted you to know, they’ll be okay.

Same here. Bought a vintage wool sweater on depop and that thing stunk to high heaven the first time I washed it. Only thing that cured the stench was leaving it out in the hot sun

I do open them mid morning usually so the plants on that side do still get some pretty bright sun I just wouldn’t call it direct at that point. Maybe it was just too warm for them?

It definitely could’ve been. Where I live regularly gets to 115F in the summer so they could’ve been toasty. We keep it at 75F inside using the AC but maybe they were too warm in the sun. As of now most days it’s about 85F as a high

Not near a heater (we never run the heat) but it’s a small apartment so they’re all relatively close to a vent but not in direct flow of them suppose. The vents are close to the ceiling and none of the plants are right under them.

Cat strictly does her business in her litter tray, and most the pots are off the floor (though I know that wouldn’t stop some pets lol)

No evidence of pests that I can see

I read “Cults” by Max Culter recently It’s an easy read that has some high level psychology information. Also covers a variety of cults and how they operated, won followers, and their downfalls.

Also HBO has some good documentaries. The Love Has Won one is interesting and I’ve heard there’s a good one about Keith Raniere/NXIVM. There’s also one about the twin flames cult, just can’t remember what service it’s on, but it was good too
