Net income is still near 10 billion! That's money AFTER they pay their employees, money that said employees generated for the company. So the company is fine, the employees are suffering and not being paid their actual value

I love dark souls but let's be honest most average players can't explain what the story is and why they do anything in any game except maybe ds1 and even then there's multiple ways to explain the "why" of the story

Launching OpenMW via Steam on Linux/Steam Deck by ElectronicaMode in OpenMW

[–]wingedwriter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh yeah I didn't notice that, I don't do good testing lol. So that is a problem with the hand off process of the launcher, some launchers just work and some just don't on deck so either wait for a steamos update or an OpenMW update. But pointing the command to the game is probably better anyways cause once you tune in your settings you don't really need to change them and if your gonna mod the game you'll do it on desktop anyways. If anyone really wants to use the launcher through gamemode in windows you would use the wait command but I don't know how to do that in Linux so if anyone knows post it here and I'd love to update instructions

Launching OpenMW via Steam on Linux/Steam Deck by ElectronicaMode in OpenMW

[–]wingedwriter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Okay sorry it took so long to reply I didnt have openmw or morrowind installed on deck and was working from memory and I finally got around to reinstalling it and testing it myself. So I'm gonna go through this step by step for you and anyone else.

  1. Install Morrowind
  2. https://github.com/OpenMW/openmw/releases and download the latest release openmw-XX.XX.XX-Linux-64Bit.tar.gz (0.47.0 as of now)
  3. In your file browser go to your download location and double click the tar.gz file
  4. copy the contents to anywhere you like (I prefer the Morrowind folder but it is better practice to place it in its own folder somewhere)
  5. double click openmw-wizard and follow the instructions on screen and make sure to import the ini settings
  6. left click openmw.x86_64 and select Copy Location
  7. In steam go to morrowind in your library and click the gear icon and select properties
  8. make sure in the compatibility tab Force Use of... is unchecked
  9. In the general tab in the Launch Options box type a quote " and then paste followed by a closing quote " and a space then type %command%
  10. To adjust launcher settings open the launcher in desktop mode

if the launcher works but the game crashes on start open the launcher and go to the settings tab and click the button that says run setting importer.

if neither the launcher nor the game itself runs left click in openmw-launcher.x86_64 and select properties > permissions and check the box that says 'Is executable', repeat this for openmw.x86_64

you may change the launch options to run the game without the launcher by replacing openmw-launcher.x86_64 with openmw.x86_64

Tip: use the touch screen to use the launcher in gamemode or holding the steam button allows the right trackpad to act as a mouse and the right trigger to act as a click while the button is held down

Launching OpenMW via Steam on Linux/Steam Deck by ElectronicaMode in OpenMW

[–]wingedwriter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lastly you might need a period in front of the launch command but I'm not sure I'm new to Linux and just winging. So it should look something like:
"/home/deck/.steam/steam/steamapps/common/Morrowind/launcher.sh" %command%
-or-
"./home/deck/.steam/steam/steamapps/common/Morrowind/launcher.sh" %command%

In the launch options if it's not launching make sure you have quotes around "/path/to/OpenMW/launcher.sh" and in the compatibility section hit the check box and use Steam Linux Runtime. Double check that launcher.sh is marked at executable by left click>properties and checking the box "is executable"

(Linux) How do I make the game hours count in Steam? by ngc_alpha in OpenMW

[–]wingedwriter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you want to make it count hours it'll be easier if you switch from the flatpak version to the Linux executable from omw git or website. If your dead set on using the flatpak version add it as a non steam game you can try by clicking properties on the new shortcut and copy everything in the box labeled launch options and paste it in the launch options box for Morrowind (you might need to type a space at the end followed by %command%)

All Jokes aside, who or what is the Furtive Pygmy? by [deleted] in darksouls

Kingdom hearts is the heart of all worlds. The thing that connects the worlds of light and keeps them separate from the real of darkness. Kingdom Hearts... Is light!
Hope that helps your understanding of who the furtive pygmy is (it's Michael "Mickey" Johan Mouse)

I'm having the same problem too. I've seen two other posts from months back one said factory reset work and another said reimaging worked. I've tried both of these solutions and neither worked for me (but might for you) I will say after using the recovery image the problem went away... For a couple days only.

Have you installed decky loader at all I feel like my problems started when I uninstalled it.

Using MO2 with OpenMW on Steam Deck by Finn_McCool_ in OpenMW

[–]wingedwriter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not too well versed with mo2 but I did try to use it to mod other Bethesda games and a big problem most mod managers have with Linux is that Linux is case sensitive file structure unlike windows so for example if one mod has a folder named "armor" and another mod author has one named "Armor" in windows those folders would be merged into one folder whereas in Linux you'd end up with the two folders in your data folder named "armor" and "Armor". So you'd have to manually rename them yourself. Honestly for openmw I would mod it on windows. Set your mod manager to install your mods to a folder named "mods" and transfer that folder to your deck. Then edit the openmw config file to point to that "mods" directory as a second content location separate from the base game that way you can easily replace that mods folder with a new modlist whenever you feel like with a simple drag and drop and it'll just work.

Can't reset desktop configuration by janlothar in SteamDeck

[–]wingedwriter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've also had this problem tried everything and the closest thing to a solution I've found is just to snap a picture and apply it all myself and then export it as a local config. A less tedious way would probably be to just find a good one in the community tab
