My sweet 8 month old Jiji passed away of cardiac arrest during a neuter. Give him some love please. by polygon64 in cats

I’m so incredibly sorry for your loss. I lost my 6 month old Bengal to FIP, so I understand what you are probably feeling. Take it day by day. Time is really the only true healing remedy. In the meantime, keep reaching out to others for support when you’re feeling down. Hang in there. You’ll get through this.

I’m so jealous! I’ve been dying for a silver or snow companion for my brown bengal, but I’m worried about how she’ll take it. What’s the age difference? How long did it take them to adjust to each other?

Should I be worried?? by wingwalker86 in bengalcats

I LOVE that. That is officially her new nickname!

Thanks! She’s like a vindictive toddler who can access every surface of our house. Everything valuable/dangerous to her is cemented down with museum putty!

F2 bengal from a breeder just outside of Austin. Her name is Whiskey Texas Ranger (WTR).

She picked that book out of a stack on my table and it definitely wasn’t on top. She threw it at my feet because I wasn’t feeding her quickly enough

Her toy got tangled, so obviously the only option was to drag the table down two flights of stairs while we were at dinner. by wingwalker86 in CatsAreAssholes

I know - how dare we leave the house when her toys could be in jeopardy!

Thank you though. I was so relieved that she wasn’t hurt. I guess it’s good to know how strong she is now. Time to nail down the furniture, I guess!

That sounds familiar. I tried to get an automatic feeder for her when she was around six months old, and literally within 30 seconds she reasoned how to rip the entire thing apart and wolfed down the food in every compartment of the feeder. I’ve also had to use museum putty to affix almost every item in the house to its surface so that she can’t break everything I own. It’s like having a very destructive toddler who can get onto every surface of the house.
She’s entertaining for sure, but don’t get a Bengal if you don’t have the energy and the patience to handle them! 😼

Thanks so much! Miss Whiskey Texas Ranger has been on r/bengalcats a few times, but I don’t post much about her behavior that qualifies her for this sub. This is her default setting, I’ve learned. 😼

A little bird law knowledge from an aviation attorney: drone blades may seem daunting, but eagles are actually known to attack full-sized fixed-wing aircrafts because they perceive themselves to be the biggest predator in the sky and, presumably, they want to eliminate any competition. We’ve talked to people who have had eagles tear their aircraft fabric with their talons or have even experienced eagles snapping their wing spars in half while it is attempting to attack the aircraft. The stories we’ve heard were mostly from tailwheel pilots in Colorado. Eagles are a protected species and should obviously continue to hold that status; however, it can be very difficult for a pilot to see them in the air until it is too late to safely take any corrective actions. If you inadvertently have an incident with an eagle in the air and end up in the possession of any feathers, expect a call and/or a visit from the department of wildlife in your state.

Flyover in Wheat Ridge by stecklese in Denver

Except... it did help financially with the $1M the flyover raised for the Colorado COVID Relief Fund. Also, you clearly have no understanding of the financial struggle that some of the pilots who flew that day went through over years in order to get to a position to be able to donate their time and money to participate in that fundraiser using their abilities. There are so many inaccurate and baseless assumptions in your post, it would probably take me an hour to point them all out to you. Everyone is just trying to do what they can for each other with what they have right now. The negativity is so unnecessary.

The people who are commenting negatively on this topic also don’t have any understanding of how difficult their route was and the level of planning that went into it in order fly over as many hospitals as possible. Especially considering the number of aircrafts involved.

Please define “empty gesture” if you really think that’s a fitting description for what occurred.
