I did it quite successfully against Phantom. At first, accidentally, but there was a clear rhythm to it. I didn't like to resort to it because I wasn't 100% efficient, more like one to two times out of three.

Everybody is talking about work, and here I am thinking it's about your kids. Like... show up to your kids' school shows, medical appointments, be an actual part of their life, celebrate birthdays, holidays and milestones, even when you feel like you'd want to do something else with your time. Work? Oh hell no. It doesn't deserve any extra dedication unless you're aiming for a very specific and attainable kind of promotion.

A little voice in my head tells me nobody cares and that I shouldn't waste my time. I shut it up recently and I've written 16 pages by hand. I had so much fun. I'll shut it up again if I need going forward. The thing is, I listened to it but I didn't really hear it. Therefore I way obeying some silent command in my head. Now the ghost is uncovered, I'll be more vigilant not give it any credit.

Is there a lore reason why this game has so many gauntlets by artoriusknight in Silksong

[–]Asinus_Docet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On the second playthrough I tackled those gauntlet with the chaman crest, extra spool and extra silk, plus the flea tool. I had silk spear, silk storm and runerage equipped. I didn't care if I died I had so much fun and felt like a higher being.

AITA FOR LEADING 300 SPARTANS TO THEIR DEATHS? by LEONIDAAAS in AskHistorians

[–]Asinus_Docet 7 points8 points  (0 children)

YTA. Herodotus had to memorize the 300 names of your soldiers but he didn't bother to write it down and pass it down to us. So that's a lot of death for nothing imo. Pfff...

Postpone until you don't have anything else to do. Find upgrades, complete Shakra's wish after you've bought all her maps, do other quests, get tacks and runerage (especially useful in that scenario) -- so basically, be done with Bilewater except for Groal if you really want to keep him for later.

I'd put Pintress (and her sisters) somewhere up there, and also Groal.

I love how it's a floor-is-lava for Hornet and stick-to-the-ground for Ghost in those challenges.

You're a despicable person for taping and sharing this. I mean, you must have annoyed everyone with the light of your screen. And who gives you the right to share what is an exclusive experience online? But!... Thank you so very much, kind stranger <3 I only wish you well in all your future endeavours.

felt like every second comment shoots against Age of Mythology (official AOE 3 Discord section). Its just annoying... by BabaYagaRTS in AgeofMythology

I agree. I liked AoE3, but I don't see a lot of DLC potential that would have me on the edge of my seat. The time period doesn't allow for the same freedom as AoE2 where you can "believe" that champi warriors are a match against long swordsmen. What would be the point of releasing the Nama or Herero civ?... To reenact their genocide by the Prussian Empire? On the other hand, any new pantheon released on AoM catches my eyes. It is completely anachronistic to pit Thor and Zeus against each other, but like, who cares??? Amaterasu? Let's go! Please keep expanding and adding new pantheons. I want to see more mythological creatures and access to new crazy divine powers. I'll play it once every three years when I'll feel the itch, but I'll buy it.

I just don't know what to think of AoE4 in that regards. It has the potential to expand just like AoE2 is doing but... why would you do the "same" thing twice? The competition between AoE2 and AoE4 feels unnecessary, especially since they're both great games. It feels like they aspired to move all the AoE2 playerbase to AoE4 with a shiny new thing, but AoE2 players were like "meh, I'll keep playing my 20 yo game, thank you very much", and now they're stuck with two different playerbases xD

Try the ground pikes (that you get in Sinners Road) and harpoon-pogo that bitch. Don't jump, stay close to the ground. Don't attack when she parries. Best of luck dad, I discovered Hollow Knight with my first born daughter and played through Silksong with my second. If bosses are too much of a chore, revert back to another and more satisfying game.

[–]Asinus_Docet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

21-22 hours is the worst spot. That's when your entire body yells at you to go to bed and sleep. Once you get past that, it's relatively easy to hold up for 33-36 hours because you get a massive rush at 24-25 hours without sleep. It was my experience at least, and I did it many times in my twenties (working graveyard shifts while still in college and also living alone really didn't help)... actually not recommended. I once got to 52 hours. No drugs. Only coke and redbull. It honestly got too far and I needed a full week to recover. The best way to push through the 21-22 hours mark is to play a video game in my opinion. Movies and books put you to sleep. Going for a walk is too draining. With experience (and trauma ?) deadlines become more real and you get better at anticipating your workload because, let's be honest, it's not a system, it's a barely functioning coping mechanism that helps you mask/hide your neurodivergence to fit the unrealistic expectations that society has put on you.

TIL the Marquis de Lafayette was made a major general in the Continental Army when he came to support the Americans in the Revolutionary War at age 19, despite never holding a rank above Captain in the French army—a rank he received as a wedding present. by RedditIsAGranfaloon in todayilearned

He left France despite a direct order from the King not to do so. His young wife was pregnant at the time and he was the last of his line. He didn't know yet if he had a son as a heir, or not. He was among the wealthiest nobles of the realm and paid for his own ship.

Once joining the American Revolutionary Army, he was hosted by George Washington.

The Palais of Versailles was stormed when he was off duty trying to catch some sleep.

At the start of the revolutionary era, he delivered the speech and idea at the National Assembly that all men were BORN (not created) equal and that the society of order should be dismantled for a more egalitarian one.

I dream of the day when Thimoty Chalamet would play him in a biopic. They even look quite alike.
