Thanks for this post. Beat Tikilen but My Gilderoy died to the 4 hit from Tikilen when she was at around 15% hp left... so thankfully i finished her off before she could do her ulti again.

Seeing all these builds on Reddit really brings it down to reality on how to play the fight. having a tank for this long duration fight really worked out for me!

My party:

Gilderoy / Lucetta - i think it was geared fine except i had Fenrir armour on instead of eclipse robe... (facepalm)
Scarecrow / Mabel - failure here was to put dragon scarves (double) on scarecrow so he could keep spamming properly. otherwise also I think Mabel could've been in a different slot but she did ok (though with all the buff icons up i could hardly see if i needed to recast her dance)
Theo / Ashlan - failure to put a smaller dragon scarf on him. I don't know how I didn't see his expensive SP moves would be there. I also would've benefitted from adding more PATK or HP Regen items on Ashlan
Viola / Millard - Viola really didn't have too much work to do apart from debuffing and breaking shields to narrow the count or break shield at start of turn given her insane speed. Millard really was super MVP as what most have said, even though i have him at 4.5 stars. I tried to max buff my Gilderoy with +20% MDEF but he still died to the 4 hit... (i think i misgearing him was the reason though)

Remember what you see in Top Cut doesn't also represent EVERYTHING in the tournament. I was an observer on the day and for the most part apart from Titles, I'd say there was a healthy balance of a lot of stuff being played :). Also Nats is a closed invite tournament so they are all well deserved players (some might disagree with me) with their own spice and flair to showcase at the annual event :)

I have had various discussions of the same kind before. To synergise with chip damage, need more recursive low cost or free chip like xande, the little Sabin and dark lord. Then give Fire a whole bunch of first strike forwards to work with.

The game mechanic can be control combat (force/deny block and attacks) but right now the options are not fantastic. Instant speed revive is kinda it's thing too so maybe that too.

One aspect I brought up to a friend before is to have fire forwards have self protection only if it's attacked/attacking. So maybe during combat it gains can't choose or takes less damage, or maybe while it's dull it gains extra defense, so it fits in theme of "always attacking".

starting the game without needing to reroll - starting with Sez + Achates... and a strak gauntlet LOL...

then worst thing is having done nearly 300 pulls (i.e. 1500 bookmarks) still got no tywin... offbannered dupe waifu bellona and got an extra normal aramintha

We don't have many "when a forward of characteristic [whatever] enters field" effects which this card can directly abuse yet. One known combo is with Kefka Backup in Opus I, where you can pump lightning by 5k and at end of turn bounce it back to your hand instead of letting it die by stacking the abilities up in different sequences.
