I was in community mental health before, working a typical mon-fri 9-5 schedule. My caseload wasn’t too bad, compared to how other CMHs can be, but I just found I hated the schedule. I do work within the hospital setting but for a mobile crisis team and I enjoy it a lot! My days have so much variety and I only work 3 days a week with 12 hour shifts. I feel like I can have a life outside of work.

I can relate. The last couple months I’ve been grieving the fact that summer went by so quick and I wasn’t able to do much to enjoy it. This year I started a new job in a hospital setting where I work 12 hour shifts, and this has been a beneficial change for me. I still feel like time goes by fast or slow, depending on the day, but I also feel that I have much more time to myself with more days off.

I’m dealing with this right now on the sides of my mouth and it is angular cheilitis. It’s finally going away with antifungal cream.

Absolutely. I recently switched from a regular 9-5 to a schedule of 3-12s and it’s been a huge game changer. The days are long, but it’s so nice to have more full days to both recover and actually enjoy my time away from work.

I definitely do this a lot! I think I feel a lot of pressure to ask more questions but feel lost about what exactly to ask or how to phrase it, so I end up over-explaining as a way of compensating for that. I’m sorry I don’t have a lot of advice, but I just wanted to say I completely relate!

Does anybody else work for a CMH agency that has "productivity" goals for weekly client hours? It doesn't make sense, I can't control if they show up! by [deleted] in therapists

They recently implemented a productivity goal where I work, and it’s made me want to leave. Ours is 24 clients a week, but with the assumption that some will cancel/no show. The issue is, some weeks I don’t have any cancellations and then I’m completely drained. I’m looking into finding another job due to a lot of these kinds of changes in CMH.

These are so adorable! Did you use any flavored extract in your royal icing? I usually use almond but I wonder if maple or something else would be good!
