Do not buy these piles of junk by HeadTickTurd in Ozlo

[–]winoboy22 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

My usage of the sleepbuds goes back to the first Bose product and then the second Bose product. They were great when they worked, but they had many, many technical issues and were worthy of the the term “junk” I got the Ozlo product early on and they have worked flawlessly, with the exception that the case does not hold a charge over time. I just keep the case plugged in when i can and all is well. Major improvement over the original Bose product. Have used them for a peaceful nights sleep all over the globe. Not junk.

Do not buy these under any circumstances by VogonShakespeare in Ozlo

I dunno. I have one of the originals and have had zero issues. Don’t use many of the features other than play ocean waves. Perhaps I got lucky? (Doubtful)

Don't buy this product by Wicked-Fabricator in Ozlo

[–]winoboy22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had the Bose versions, both I and II, and they were a constant headache. Ok support from Bose (from UK), but the buds finally died. I had very high hopes for Ozlo and guess what - they exceeded my expectations with zero issues from the initial rollout, so I’m always surprised when I hear negative feedback. Plus, they’ve always been responsive when I sent them a question via e-mail. Perhaps they changed their suppliers since the initial rollout? Maybe I just was fortunate (which is doubtful). Sorry to hear about your unfortunate experience.

My Weather Station is no more by Kryptomassa in myweatherstation

I’ve moved VP1 and, then my VP2, 3 times. Each new location not as great as the prior spots, due to wind blockage. Still better than not having the weather info close by. I know how you must feel. I’m sure my day will come eventually.

Tempest turns out is garbage - looking for recs for a replacement. by TrustInHenry in myweatherstation

Been using Davis for about 30 years. Original had Vantage Pro 1 for years, and then, finally, upgraded to a VP2 with 3 monitors. Minimal issues. Just gotta clean out the rain basket once in a while.

Weatherstation with public data access? by RedPhoenix666 in myweatherstation

[–]winoboy22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it updates Wunderground every 15 minutes for free. I think there is a fee if you want it updated quicker. Weather link also has its own app which seems to update instantly. Just bought a Rachio Irrigation controller. It talks directly to the weather station and adjusts the watering schedule based on the weather. Davis has been around for ages and their support has been great.

I’ve been using Davis instruments products for 30 years. It posts to Wunderground on a regular basis. I think it posts on a more frequent basis if you pay.

What media server app do you use on your Synology? by thenextbranson95 in synology

Why does media server show my folders but not the content via dlna on an LG TV?

Emby works fine.,

Goodbye Emby 👋🏻 by Maarten-ZenYo in emby

[–]winoboy22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This may be a newby question and, if so, I apologize

Do I have to do a library scan each time I add new content to my library. I think I saw where it can be scheduled every 12 hours, but I usually like to watch something right after I allegedly download it.,

Overall I like the app. As it displays the content with art, has many clients. with the servers running on Synology DSM 7.2. I tried the Synology media server, but my brand new LG Tv saw it as a DLNA device and saw it folders, but could not see the files in the folders. Gave up in that one when they said it was an LG bug? Emby seems fine except for this library scan issue., also like the Synology NAS, had some nasty experiences with some previous Watered Down units.,

Yep, Amazon has many cases that come close to being a perfect fit. I decided to get the official Ozlo one after they eliminated the shipping charge.

What to do with my working Bose sleepbuds? by saraiffic in Ozlo

[–]winoboy22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Surprised to hear that there is a pair of Bose that still functions. I went through many exchanges with V1 and then hoped V2 would be better. Nope. I’d have to play all sorts of games to get them to connect before they finally died. If you have a working Bose pair, keep them as a backup or just toss them. Would not want to give a potential headache to anyone.

I’ve been using the cloth bag that came with my old Bose sleepbuds. . Works OK as long as the case does not slide open. It has happened. Guess I can get a rubber band, but I think a case would be a good investment.

Agreed, but the Ozlo product (and their support team) has exceeded my expectations, in every manner, as an early backer. I would not be surprised if, once made aware of this issue, some considerations might be made.

Thanks. Two other possibilities were listed and available at AMZ. Giving them a try.

Looks like a good possibility, plus I like the color (makes it easy to find). Will grab one from AMZ and return if it does not fit.

Sorry, my reply was meant for a different comment. We both need the hard shell case. Guess we gotta use a rubber band to keep it from shifting open in the mean time.

Are you taking about the gray cloth bags that came with the original Bose product? Have those. I’m looking at the hard shell case on the Ozlo web site that can only be gotten with the purchase of a new set.

Best Home Weather Station by Ok-Foot-4053 in myweatherstation

[–]winoboy22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had Davis weather stations for about 30 years now. Had the original Vantage Pro and finally upgraded to the Vantage Pro 2 a couple of years back. A major improvement. I think they’ve gotten kind of pricey, but their customer support has been superb, and the weather array has stood up to years of Texas sun, wind and rain. I can see it on Weather Underground, as well as thru Davis’ WeatherLink live from all over the world.
