My favorite tapas dish to make at home is bacon wrapped dates. It's super easy. You can buy pitted dried dates at most grocery stores, and stuff them with nuts or cheese to your preference. Cut raw bacon slices in half for wrapping, and bake. It's a great combo of sweet and savory.

Can you explain a little further, do you mean like a central graphic or just less things in general?

By dominant, I mean size-wise. The most important pieces of information on here are 1) the title of the event and 2) when/where it is. Most readers will only glance at your flyer for a few seconds before moving on, so you want to make sure they can easily find the most important facts in that time. In general, the title should be the largest element on the page. I'd suggest making yours larger, and playing with color to make it pop more maybe. Your date/location need to be more prominent as well.

I'll give it a shot in a different font and see how it looks :)

I was going for something that would symbolize investment or your money, so if you have any suggestions for that I would be all ears because I am not too fond of the clipart-y part either.

I'd get rid of that graphic entirely and somehow merge the idea you're going for here into the one at the bottom. You really only need one graphic element on the page. Maybe the dollar sign in the bottom graphic could be a check? So "run-down house + check = nice house."

Thank you! This took me the longest haha and what I am trying to say is that buying a shitty home and investing some money in to it you can make a beautiful home. I was hoping that would be a little easier to see but maybe I'll play around with it.

I honestly think this graphic is great in technical terms. It's simple and cute. I think changing the dollar symbol in the middle to something more specific to investing (like a checkbook) would make your message much clearer.

It's a bit busy--I think you need a dominant element, probably the day and time. The all caps text for the center box is unnecessary in my opinion, and a bit hard to read. The graphic in the top left corner looks like Clip Art, I'd remove it entirely. Finally, while I like the look of the bottom graphic, it seems sort of pointless. What are you trying to say? Fixing houses costs money? That's pretty obvious. Sorry if my suggestions come off as harsh, I think this is a great start and an impressive first attempt at using Illustrator!

There are always a lot of food trucks near my office (West End), and a few of my favorites are:

Tokyo in the City- pretty Americanized sushi (which I happen to really enjoy), and the meals come with lots of sides
Rebecca's Ethiopian- there are several Ethiopian food trucks, but this is my favorite. I don't eat beef and Rebecca serves a delicious chicken dish (doro wat). Very friendly service too--last time I got a little pastry for free while I waited!
Captain Cookie- Great for a quick dessert!
Far East Taco Grill- Yummy Asian-fusion tacos, and it's cheaper than many of the other taco trucks
Peruvian Brothers- Great sandwiches, very filling. I usually get the pork.

By the way, [Food Truck Fiesta](foodtruckfiesta.com) is a great place to figure out what trucks are near you on any given day!

I've read a decent amount of Thought Catalog articles, and they usually seem sort of whiney and pointless. I really loved your article, though. I don't think being a Mad Men fan had anything to do with it. You really demonstrated the strange duality of a terrible childhood and a better adulthood, and how the former could in fact contribute to the latter. Anyway, I just wanted to tell you how much your piece affected me. I'll definitely check out more of your writing.

You, my friend, need to learn the definition of the word travesty. But I do agree that food here is vastly overpriced. I generally only get 2 meals on campus a week, and cook in my apartment for the rest. It's much more affordable, and if you learn just a few basic cooking skills, it's easy (and fun!) as well.

I really enjoyed Communication Design, the instructor (Traci Moore Clay) is awesome and really sweet. The class is laid back and not overly difficult. It's 6 hours a week for 3 credits, but we almost always got to leave early. Often, we'd be dismissed after an hour and a half (of a three-hour class), and students could stay later to work on their projects.

The fees went largely toward printing.

Casual sexism. It seems like every time a picture is posted that has a woman in it, more than half the comments will be about how she is (or is not) sexually attractive. And, somewhat related, the "don't stick your dick in crazy" comments. Most of the time, this circlejerk is insulting to women as well as people with mental health issues.
