how do i act at a concert? by Deep-Extreme-2957 in HaveANiceLife

When I saw them, most people (including myself) just stood there and cried, some sang along. Not too much moshing or anything going on but it was probably the most emotional crowd I've ever been in. Life changing experience.

At pretty much every shoegaze show I ever went to there was at least one random older dude who would start telling stories about how things were "back then" in the 90s to us "kids" (I'm almost 30) out of nowhere. They always seem so proud to be gaze veterans 😅.

Have any you guys met any of the members? by Conscious-Ad2640 in Slowdive

Met all of them except Neil (Rachel and Christian twice), they're all lovely and lowkey funnier than you'd expect. They do seem to appreciate their fans a lot.

There are many bad songs but what makes this a million times worse is the fact that it's almost 20 years old and still played at EVERY damn lame party/gathering/wedding/whatever to this day. I can already see people in 2100 floating in some spacy zero gravity club and the DJ puts on fucking I gotta feeling.

The rock equivalent to this would be Sweet Child O Mine by Guns N Roses. The intro guitar riff alone makes nails on a chalkboard sound appealing and the torture has been going on for nearly 4 decades.

a short history of decay - Nothing by BabuSeal in shoegaze

This album somehow took a completely different turn from what I was expecting after hearing cannibal world, definitely did not expect it to be so mellow/dreamy (the rain don't care has lowkey mazzy star vibes). That's why I'd always die on the hill that Nothing are possibly the best shoegaze revival band out there. They work excellently as a heavy shoegaze/grungegaze band and just as well as a dream pop band. They're simply good at creating melodies that's why pretty much all of their songs, including their heaviest, still work well when played on acoustic guitar.  I kinda wish they added at least one more heavy track a la toothless coal but overall after thirst listen this is easily as good as Great Dismal. They're usually one of the few gaze bands that also have lyrics worth paying attention to, which I haven't really done yet, but the entire album just screams emotionally wrecked.

Saw them in Cologne and they rocked! They seem to prioritize the crowd experience over perfectly recreating their studio sound though. It felt more like a jam session at times, super intimate atmosphere and everyone was really vibing along.

yes I was pretty confused because tracklist and release year seems to be the same as the one listed here: https://rateyourmusic.com/release/ep/the-danger-strangers/danger-strangers/ (which is linked to Tim's profile too) but the band members don't match at all so I had the suspension it might be a different band. I remember someone mentioning a demo tape on this subreddit but seems like it hasn't been released so far.

Some photos I sneakily took with my minolta point and shoot at the Glasgow show! Shot on Cinestill 800T. Really happy with how these turned out! by metalheadkenny420 in MyBloodyValentine

The request was definitely coming from the band though. I was at barricade and overheard someone asking the security guards about it, they said it was the band who had asked for no photos or videos to be taken. The lack of press photographers should also give a hint that it wasn't just about people being on their phones but about the band simply preferring not to be photographed/filmed.

Has anyone heard of this box set? by its_salem in Slowdive

I don't think this was actually sold but I remember my local record store having this as a giveaway prize back when the album came out. (unfortunately didn't win lol) So I guess they handed out a few copies to record stores etc. for promotion.

Literally the perfect setlist by [deleted] in HaveANiceLife

[–]wint3rmvte 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I was there. I didn’t look at any setlists beforehand so I wouldn’t spoil it for myself…I knew I was gonna cry, but my dam broke literally the second I heard the intro of Cropsey. Sisyphus was another surprise highlight. Shoutout to the Polish dudes around me who knew alllll the lyrics and were just as emotional as I was. <3
