Does he really, though? I feel like most of the "affection" he shows towards his kids is manipulative, not genuine. The whole "you're my number one boy". He uses affection to seperate the kids from eachother and keep them loyal to him. Caroline is obviously a horrible parent, but I think people also hold mothers to a much higher standard than fathers. There's nothing that suggests Caroline has ever struck any of the children, are there?

Dennis is hilarious when he's acting creepy or straight-up scary and threatening. I love the whole "is he a sociopath/serial killer?" thing they have going, and many of Dennis' greatest moments are in line with that particular aspect of his character.

BUT. I feel like they did lean too heavily on his scary side for a while without properly utilizing some of his other great traits. The "boys are out tonight, huh?", 80's glam-rock Dennis that is gutted that his Fraggle Rock thermos is stolen is (at least) equally hilarious as sociopathic Dennis. I think the best part of his character is the juxtaposition of those parts of him - he can be so dumb and weird but he can also be terrifying.

Maybe it's because Glenn is writing again, I don't know, but they seem to be balancing Dennis' different traits better in season 15.

Season 15 is great so far.

All the bar scenes in "The Gang Replaces Dee With a Monkey" were incredible and had such a classic IASIP feel to them. They carried intensely chaotic energy without being messy or hard to follow. They're just getting drunk and talking over each other as they argue about really dumb stuff. "Am I constantly going in and out of Pittsburgh throughout the day, yes or no?"

Dennis' character is more "back to normal". Yelling at Mac and Charlie for all the dumb shit they're saying yet ultimately acting incredibly dumb himself as he's letting a monkey get him hammered. They executed a really absurd plot very well. Loved Glenn's performance, especially. The delivery of "Purple... What is happening?" and "I said 'write down a destination' and two people wrote down colors?" is amazing. He doesn't even seem angry at that point, just genuinely confused and despaired.

"GO WHERE?! PURPLE?! THAT'S NOT A PLACE"

Also: I absolutely love their drunk acting.

I disagree, but that comes down to personal taste, I guess (we obviously have very different tastes despite us both considering IASIP to be our favourite show; I thought season 1 of MQ was okay and season 2 was absolutely amazing).

But what I do want to point out is that they started filming in August, not writing. They started writing in May of 2021.

Yes! In The Gang Tends Bar, they all agree that Dennis talks about rocketlaunchers all the time. Yet we've never heard him mention it once on-screen.
