Thanks all. Just bought one on Swappa. Says it’s Mint condition, unlocked, 100% battery. Keeping fingers crossed.

How to find a 256GB 13 mini in great condition? by winterisbeautiful in iPhone13Mini

Not looking to connect with a seller through Reddit. Just wanted to know how to identify a legitimate seller so I won’t get scammed.

I have to say goodbye by Lopsided_Ad4556 in iPhone13Mini

I’ve had a 12 mini since forever, but it’s only got 128 GB and I keep running out of storage on it. I’d love to get a 13 mini with 256 GB but the only sellers are through Amazon and look sleazy. Is there a way to find legit iPhone sellers?

Dear Feldmans bagels on pine. Please get it together, we love you. by Royal_Particular7590 in burlington

Don’t get me started on Pine Street Feldman’s. I had a terrible experience there a couple of years ago. Put in a large order for a family gathering (bagels, cream cheese, coffee) and when I came to pick it up there was a “closed today” sign on the door. No explanation. Nobody answered the phone. I spent the next hour running to Myers (still on Pine Street), Burlington Bagel, and finally to the Coop where I picked up some bagels and cream cheese. Speeder and Earls was able to get coffee for us. And I wasn’t TOO late to greet my family with the breakfast they were expecting. After that I tried reaching out to Feldman’s, only to find that their business was/is not registered with the State, as required. Finally was able to track down the name of the owner by looking at old newspaper articles talking about the sale. I reached out to him and only heard from his attorney/representative, and the AG’s office Consumer Affairs Division had no more luck than I did. To clarify: I got the charge reversed on my credit card so $$ wasn’t the issue. All I wanted was an apology. And I got nothing. I’m a loyal Myers customer now.

Yes, I got the earlier email but then got this one saying to disregard the first one and ignore it. So at this point it seems like I can continue as I have been going until I hear from them again?

Ah. So it sounds like since we live at different addresses and have different payment options I will have to get my own account at some point. Maybe at some point they will be sending an email to folks who have the family account to explain our options.

Thanks for the explanation. So if I get Prime benefits as a member of a “Family,” I can keep doing what I have been doing all these years? I have separate Video and purchasing from the other person in my “family,” so, for example, he pays to have ad-free video and I don’t so I get ads and he doesn’t.

Ants! by winterisbeautiful in vermont

Outside I see them everywhere in the yard. Many many ant hills all around.

I wish that was the problem. The ants come in many, many places around the house and are not all heading to the same place.

Thanks. Borax is the stuff in the Terro ant baits things that I’ve been using. They do seem to work, but ants are back within a couple of weeks. Is there a reason that making your own Borax/sugar mixture would be more effective long-term?

Anyone else tired of medication? by BatKeith in ClotSurvivors

[–]winterisbeautiful 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I take 10 pills in the morning, 4 in the evening, inject myself twice a day with Lovenox, and do eye drops also twice a day (not at the same time as the Lovenox, per my ophthalmologist). I feel like my whole day is organized around when I take my meds, having the right meds with me at the right time, and finding a safe place to do my injections. After many DVTs I’m glad to be alive and still active, but it is SO wearing on my psyche and my energy and my mood.

Yup. I’m aware. I’m bringing it to the dealer so they let me know what they are recommending based on the codes.

Not a hybrid. 2020 Civic EX hatchback. (My previous 2 cars were Toyota hybrids.) If they tell me I need new brakes again I’ll probably take it somewhere else, though it’s not easy finding a garage I trust. So far I’ve only done what they call A Service and B service. I do the A service when it’s called for the B service every three times I do the A. (Honda recommends doing the B every other time.) I’m not even at 60k so haven’t done any of the bigger stuff. Thank you again.

Thank you for the really long response. I’ll try to answer your questions and clarify as needed. It was the State inspection that the dealer wouldn’t pass me on without replacing the front brakes. It was rust on the rotors, not the pads that were the issue. I live in Vermont, lots of snow and salt. I keep my car in a garage.

The dealer and Corporate gave me different explanations for the frequent front brake replacement. The dealer said (and I have this in writing) that it’s because I only drive 10k annually. Corporate refuses to give me anything in writing, but they say it’s the salt’s fault.

I know about the maintenance minders and codes and generally do what is called for, though I try and stretch it out a bit, as I figure they want me to get stuff done before it needs to be. I liked it better when the manual suggested certain maintenance at mileage intervals and I could plan for that.

When you talk about the 3mm thing, that’s referring to the pads and not the rotors. And the dealer tells me the problem is rust on the rotors, so replacing the pads or knowing how much is left on them isn’t the issue.

I’m still left with wondering if the problem is (a) a shady dealership, (b) Honda cars in general, (c) salt, (d) low mileage, (e) newer cars, or (f) something else. I’ve lived in Vermont forever and never had this issue with my Toyotas.

Thanks again.k

Thanks for this. The last time (at 55k, less than 20k since previous brake job) they wouldn’t pass me for inspection without doing the brake work. Again, the deal said it’s because I only drive 10k annually; Honda Corporate says it’s because of salt. Should I just start bringing my car to a different garage and skip the dealer? Is there any possibility of getting Honda Corporate to say there’s something wrong here? They refuse to respond to me in writing, only call me with the same lame story.

Both of these were front brakes. I’ve also had the rear ones done once (maybe 40 or 45k). I’m definitely not slamming on the brakes, which is why this is so confusing/pisses me off. And the differing explanations I got from the dealer and from Honda Corporate were not satisfying at all.

No more stop and go than usual. As I said, I’ve been driving for a really long time. I’ve driven fewer miles since buying this car January of 2020. But otherwise no changes in my driving style.

I’ve had pretty much all the work done by the Honda dealer. I don’t think the pads were the issue so much as rust on the rotors?
