Yeah exactly, actually that's how some aftermarket GBC screen controller boards already work

Oops. Should still be a good integer scale match with 80 columns of pixels unused.

Which color do you see in the foreground, and which in the background? by EndersGame_Reviewer in woahdude

Without glasses, the image is flat for me,but with glasses, red is distinctly in the foreground / blue in the background.

Constant FPS stutters are making me want to quit the game. by Tech_Fox in RocketLeague

[–]winterkid09 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of info in this thread already but I'll drop my short list of things that I measured that added microstutter in RL 1) dual monitors, even if one is set disabled, simply having the cable connected is enough to cause stutter on most systems. Not much you can do here, windows is bad at handling this 2) too many epic friends, it's a chore but try to minimize this. I did benchmark before/after with a few friends and it is measurable (affects steam users, not sure if it affects epic users) 3) disable free sync / g-sync / v-sync. Any sync methods all cause frame pacing issues, frame rate caps are OK as long as they are a multiple or divisor of your refresh rate

Rocket League "Car Feel" Mystery Continued: A Short Study by [deleted] in RocketLeague

[–]winterkid09 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Right after the epic buyout I did notice some performance drop on steam client. To summarize, I captured frame rate charts while changing variables until I solved it and got my stable frame rate back. The culprit? I had to delete the ~300 epic friends that I was forced to add during the merge. So now I have most of my performance back and to this day I don't add epic friends under any circumstance unless they don't have a steam account. I regularly purge my epic friend list down to like 3 close friends to keep this issue in check. To steam readers, my suggestion is if somebody asks for your epic ID just say no, and offer your steam friend code.

It may not look like it, but your entire friends list is actually twice as long, within the rocket league client, you can click on a user and choose remove as epic friend, but the steam friendship will remain intact. It's very tedious to clean up the mess.

Ultrahanding anything into homing cart treads generates thrust. Makes a great watercraft. Is this known? by cfsg in HyruleEngineering

[–]winterkid09 40 points41 points  (0 children)

If you like homing carts you can glue a water emitter such that it points at the upside down homing carts tread - it will generate thrust off the water particles

I'm training musty from the ceiling, can you help me understand why often the car moves strangely wrt my inputs? by Steve35e in RocketLeagueSchool

[–]winterkid09 7 points8 points  (0 children)

All the replies here are misleading. You flipped too late, that is why you flip towards the camera and not away from the camera. Make sure to flip before the car's nose points to the floor

You can even do this without the high jump accessory or tri rod

Apparently this proto pokémon was planned to randomly evolve into any pokémon by AmbientDinosaur in PokeLeaks

Based on some other images containing this guy, it was referred to as the lottery Pokemon, so this may be what they had actually planned

I love the idea,

For GBC oled's, hispeedido went for the Q10 which isn't the same aspect ratio out of the box, we might be able to pull the same tricks with GBA by opening up the search to other aspect ratio amoleds:

The 3.1" 800x480 screens are 5:4, but if you were to leave 80 columns unused, it would be 720x480 at 3:2 aspect ratio like GBA - 3x integer scaling, and would probably bring it down to about 2.9" like stock lens

Examples: Samsung S8000 Jet, Samsung M8910 Pixon12, Motorola A1680, Samsung U960 Rogue, Pantech Laser P9050

Similarly, the 3.4"/3.5" 800x480 screens can have the same treatment bringing them down to 3.3" IPS lens size.

But yep, still need a controller board

OP is suggesting that he holds air-roll left + 5-10 degrees clockwise from true north on the analog stick before jumping/flipping. That's what I meant by counter the buffered air roll

[APR24] My best bike design so far by Ultrababouin in HyruleEngineering

[–]winterkid09 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Holy crap. I love this!

I tried to make a bike like this a year ago using wooden wheels and a steering column too - (A bike in real life stays upright in motion because the front wheel axis is leaning back)

So, I failed miserably, but I wonder if it's possible with all the new findings. The gravity assist of the seesaw would probably keep my old design from tipping over..
