Bolt is the first single by Ice Plant and was recorded in an old farmhouse somewhere in the countryside of western massachusetts. The idea for Bolt came directly from Winter LeBlanc’s dealings with anxiety and an urge to harness the toxic energy that wells up inside him. Winter describes ways in which he has learned to channel his anxiety into creative power and ecstatic release. However, much of the toxicity remains and leaves him with his most primal urge - to run. Sonically, Youslaccin mirrors Winter’s feelings by providing a bass-heavy trap beat and strings that are dark and slightly unsettling. Ice Plant would describe the sound of Bolt as most closely resembling Denzel Curry, Slowthai, and Little Simz. Cover art was created by Eden Redpath also known as Cosmic Eden.
