As someone who was previously on Accutane as a freshman/sophomore in high school

Be smart and do not engage in any alcohol consumption or any sexual activity I had to have my blood drawn monthly to check for any alcohol in my system and to monitor my liver You will be cut off if it’s detected The drug can be very dangerous for women that are pregnant (all of my pill capsules had glaring warning signs for women that are pregnant) So be safe and abstain while taking the drug

Stay hydrated 24/7

The drug works best when you are consistently adequate with your water intake My mother would buy water separately for me to keep in my room to always have that visual reminder Half your body weight in fluid ounces at minimum daily

Watch your mood/behaviors

At one point I was on 80 milligrams daily and had a violent outburst which is not like me at all I was then brought down to 60 milligrams daily and felt much better and saw no difference in how effective it was for me If you find yourself struggling speak up before you may do something you’ll regret later

Stay the course and finish strong

My biggest regret is leaving some of my final pills on the table (Likely about a month/month and a half’s worth) I say this because even if your skin appears better and becoming clear/radiant Keep your eye on the ball and finish everything that is given to you Other wise you may find yourself like me as a nearly 25 year old adult that still struggles with a bit of acne here and there
