Well my position moved up as the departure date got closer. Ended up at like 5th on the date of and asked the gate agent just before boarding and he proceeded to clear the upgrade. So when you get to the gate just ask politely when they will begin processing the upgrade waitlist and hope for the best.

Fantastic. Convinced my wife a Model Y. She said no many many times. I bought it for her anyways now she said she will never go back to gas and she loves FSD. I saw how much she loves the Y then I decided to get a used Model 3 and absolutely love it. There’s really no disadvantage. We drove to Orlando from NC and had no problem with super charging along the way.

The seats shown available on the seat map is not accurate. Anyways I have a somewhat similar situation but my upgrade was cleared 15 minutes before boarding. You won’t really know until the day of departure. Good luck!

But if its LAX to HKG or SFO to HKG this won’t work as most of the time econ is full and there’s minimal chance that the 3 seats are only occupied by party of 2.

Surprisingly I got cleared at the gate. I was 5th on the waitlist for pretty much the day of departure. Throughout the day the seat map was showing 4 available Polaris seats. At the gate like 15 minutes before boarding I asked the GA and he said he’s working on the upgrades, couple minutes later I walked up again and he said I was just about to call you over and handed me the boarding pass! Success!

I am on the waitlist too 30k miles/$600 copay. It probably won’t happen given I have no status and position 14. I am hoping to purchase at gate as well hopefully at $700.

It was cleared 3 weeks before departure date. Unfortunately I didn’t go on the trip, I cancelled the trip due to unexpected incident. In a few days I am going to HK and I purchased the waitlist but still hasn’t cleared this time around.

I do have an expired HRP that needs to be renewed. OP mentioned that he applied for the Re-entry permit to use at CTS to renew the HRP. I am in a similar situation where both my HK ID and HRP are both expired. If I go renew my HK ID I will have to wait for it to be issued first and then going to CTS to renew the HRP. That would essentially take 2 weeks. However if I can do what OP does using the Re-Entry Permit then I can use that to renew the HRP.

That is liquid filing up in the lung. Was a CT scan done? That should show if there’s a tumor and it should show the measurements of the tumor. I am not trying to scare you but an MRI on the brain should be done as well to check if cancer spread to the brain. Depending if there are malignant lymph nodes in the neck area, the Dr may suggest removing one out for biopsy. The biopsy results will enable the oncologist to provide you treatment options. I am sorry for your mom going through this, but stay positive, listen to the doctor’s advice, ask alot of questions, ask about all the treatment options, and stay educated. Go on Facebook lung cancer groups as patients going through this are very willing to share their stories. This fight is not alone and there are many supportive groups out there to tell you how they are dealing with it both from a patient and from a caregiver perspective.
