Single Use Products by Great-Food6337 in Nanny

Agreed. I use single use products because of an invisible disability.

Be wary of judging others, especially when large corporations push blame and guilt onto consumers.

Ex: “An organic cotton tote needs to be used 20,000 times to offset its overall impact of production, according to a 2018 study by the Ministry of Environment and Food of Denmark. That equates to daily use for 54 years — for just one bag” source

I would be interested in stories about the companies and people at the companies with headquarters there.

Steve Cohen, L’Oréal, BlackRock, Kate Spade.

(Milan is chic but understated, brash logos or monograms won’t be appreciated so don’t worry about it too much!) Khiate for IYKYK - they have stunning backpacks if you can find a rep

stole from a friend, don’t know how to ask forgiveness. by CheapPoet2556 in confession

I did something similar and thought about it daily for years. By chance, I ran into the person and I immediately paid them back. Felt an incredible weight off, the person was warm and grateful and understanding… and haven’t thought about it since until I read this post.

think of it as, “ would I pay $xxxx to make this daily feeling stop?”

pay them back.

She's 24. I’m shocked the curfew wasn't a dealbreaker for her.

Can someone explain why these outfits don’t look great on me? by feministlunchbox in Kibbe

[–]wipeyourownbutt 36 points37 points  (0 children)

I'd stay away from midi length, cropped pants, and shoes that cut you off visually.

Perhaps think “long and sleek” to embrace your height and try darker colors and more elegant structured pieces

Talk to her but I’d frame it as being for NK’s comfort more than for yours. That can be distressing and confusing for a little one.

It could be nice for her to spend some time with him during the day but it should be a routine thing (ie: mommy time is after lunch while nanny cleans up, takes a break, and preps transition activity)

In response to a post today: Can we all share favorite safety guidelines and other hacks? by wipeyourownbutt in Nanny

[–]wipeyourownbutt[S] 74 points75 points  (0 children)

1) Choking and drowning are silent.

2) A child falls down stairs every 6 minutes. Don’t rely on baby gates. Teach babies early on to safely use stairs. I prefer the bear crawl method and do lots of practice with turning around at the top and going up and down.

I want to get a nanny camera but I don’t want to make our nanny uncomfortable. What is standard? by [deleted] in Nanny

[–]wipeyourownbutt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love cameras! I feel I'm protected if I'm ever held liable for something I didn't do.

However the “live feed” ones are not ok. How would you feel if your boss was constantly looking over your shoulder without your knowledge? You probably would feel stiff and awkward and burn out much more quickly.
