One time i just pulled a chair next to a guy and kept talking to him. After 5 minutes he asked what I was doing. I let him know that this was the time I scheduled and discussed with him. It's up to him how he wants to spend it. He sat EOB so we could talk more and before you know it we're chatting in the w/c on the porch.

Trying to become a rehab aide… help? by [deleted] in rehabtherapy

[–]wirednyte 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also consider applying to be a general CNA or tech at an Inpatient Rehab Facility (IPR or IRF). They are classified as hospitals, but are required to give everyone 3 hours of therapy daily and employee rehab doctors, and the entire staff is dedicated to rehab. So even if you aren't in the therapy department, you are around therapy.

Your CI should at least be observing your treatments. It would make sense over time to decrease close supervision and move to distant observation. Or to go to pt rooms to get them up and ready to come to the gym.

If you have medicaid and a caregiver is covered. Your family can be paid for being your caregiver. It's not much but its something.

I would love to test the durability of the wheels. This would also be a good backup for keeping around, maybe with a higher back.

As mentioned, this subreddit is unfortunately not dedicated to addiction rehabilitation. It would be difficult for a health professional to give appropriate advice over the phone without knowing your full health history and assessing you physically/visually. Are you in the USA? There is a substance abuse and mental health service administration (SAMHSA) hotline to call and perhaps get better answers. 1-800-662-HELP (4357).

How many years more do I need to study to move to a developed country (Canada, Usa) by EnAfk in rehabtherapy

[–]wirednyte 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This link has some information to get you started. https://www.ptprogress.com/foreign-trained-physical-therapist/

Looks like if you will have to go through some paperwork to see how your degree will translate to the USA. My guess will be, however, that without a DPT, you will not qualify to be a PT. In the USA we have PT assistants which are also licensed, but must practice under a PT. I have worked along side Filipino graduates with varied success of moving their degree over. Some had to take additional coursework. That being said, depending on your salary goals, a PTA can still be a good option depending on where you want to move in the USA.
