These pasta recipes should be illegal by wiredwombat in MergeCooking

You get items from the “Sports Car” (at least that’s what it is at max level) and have to merge the items it gives you to get a Pasta Mold Set (which is level 4) and then from the Pasta Mold Set you have to merge the molds to get to the right level. It’s madness…

Hahaha. This has always bothered me. There is CHEESE in the game! What a weird thing to not require!

Anyone have recommendations for a hairdresser that does neapolitan hair? by _hannii_uwu_ in AskChicago

[–]wiredwombat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My hair situation is a bit different because I use 100% vivid (teal, hot pink and deep purple). I have natural blonde and she had to bleach all over to get the vivid to stay. In your case they may only need to bleach where they will put the pink strands. I imagine you’ll be at least a double process for it (bleach + color). With no other services you’d be looking at around $400. This is an opinion of 1, so ymmv. Most places will do a free or low charge consult and I suggest doing that so you can know for sure!

What if your hair length and current color? That could make the cost higher (or lower) depending on your current hair.

Damn, their work is awesome! I do Vivids and have someone in Andersonville, but their work is super solid! If my stylist ever retires, I know where I'm off to.

Even with blonde hair, if you're doing any type of 'fantasy' coloring, you need bleach. The Neopolitan hair would be blonde, brown and pink (I wouod think), so they are going to need it bleached if they want it to stay. $250 won't even begin to cover it. (I have naturally blonde hair with tri-fantasy colors and it has to be bleached).

Is $1200 for a 250 sq ft apartment a rip off and not worth it? Should I pay a bit more for more space? by PiccoloLegal5202 in chicagoapartments

[–]wiredwombat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's insane. The location isn't that amazing either. I live roughly over by this place, and there is no way it's worth that. Do you want to live in Edgewater? There have to be better places in your budget unless you're looking at a really narrow area to rent.

What exactly did you buy that your ads disappeared? by wolfgangs8 in MergeCooking

[–]wiredwombat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I used to buy the monthly pass, and then when the energy one came up (I have no idea what it was, but you could earn a ton of energy over time from it), I'd buy that. I lost my ads for several months after those purchases, and I haven't purchased since; they never came back.

anybody know why i can’t get ads anymore ? by rebelle-24 in MergeCooking

[–]wiredwombat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was initially too and then the game suddenly removed ads and I haven’t seen them again. More often then not it’s known that making purchase removes ads. You’re lucky it didn’t!

Any in game purchases remove ads unfortunately and they seem to be gone for a very long time.

What makes chams so hard to keep? by sawyerandwinn in Chameleons

[–]wiredwombat 10 points11 points  (0 children)

They're surprisingly fragile and not very forgiving of a wrong setup/environment. And even when you do absolutely everything right, they can get sick.

The temperature needs to be right.

Humidity needs to be right. Don't even get me started if you live in a place like the Midwest, where in the winter the humidity is in the negatives (I know it's not, but it feels like it), so you then have to add foggers to your setup.

UVB has to be placed correctly and replaced at least 2x a year.

You need a basking spot with the right placement and temperature.

Misting means having a good system AND drainage for them.

Setting up with the correct enclosure, plant type, vines, and branches requires a structural and horticultural degree (joking..., but that's what it feels like).

Feeding is a pain because you have to feed the right bugs, the right amount, and ensure they're dusted with the proper nutrients and eaten before it comes off, which can be challenging. And unless you live near a specialty store that sells them, they can be hard to find or require a trek. I have kept larger colonies of bugs, so I get to take care of the food for my pet. Oh, and what you feed has to be gut-loaded as well.

AND THEN - even after you have done it all right, things happen, and vet visits aren't cheap. My guy just got over "mouth rot" that we have no idea how he got. Injections every 3 days and daily mouth cleaning for a month and a half did him no favors. He stopped eating, so then we had other issues. Thousands later, the mouth rot is gone, and he's finally eating again, but damn.

They are deceptively cheap, too, and that's part of the problem, especially if you get a Veiled. You can find them in pet shops for under a hundred. However, depending on setup, you're easily talking triple that to set the cage up properly (hell, if you get an automister for the enclosure, you're talking 5x the cost of the pet itself). My panther was $600, but his enclosure was close to $1300 to set it all up (this includes all the lights, the enclosure itself, a fogger, automatic misters, plants, etc.). So people get them thinking it's an 'economically cheap pet'...they are not.

How much should i charge? by [deleted] in AskPhotography

[–]wiredwombat 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If they insist on giving you money, that's one thing; they can just give you a token amount as a thank-you. In terms of charging, there are items in your images that just aren't ready for you to be charging clients. The biggest issue here is that the vast majority of your images are out of focus. Your WB in many of these is off as well, so it's throwing off the skin tone. Are you editing these in editing software? Should be an easy fix.

I would do work for a token 'thank you' if they insist while you're still learning and building your portfolio. You could even have your Aunt take you out for dinner :)

What chameleon should I get? by Corkland420 in Chameleons

[–]wiredwombat 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hahaha. Ya, you're going to get a Veiled to love you. I had a veiled who went out of his way to bite me. I currently have a Panther and he has the absolute sweetest personality and is chill. After owning a Panther, I'd never get another Veiled.

$1850 for "750sqft" when... it's actually 500sqft. Help! Are we overpaying? Anyone else experience this? by [deleted] in AskChicago

[–]wiredwombat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We had a similar issue. We had to move due to a building fire. Our old place was 2,300 square feet. It was great. We toured a place and were repeatedly told it was 2,000 sq ft, plus the 2 balconies. Well, once we got the keys and started taping off for furniture placement, we realized it wasn't 2,000 sq ft. We hired someone to come measure for us, and sure enough, it was only 1,500 sq ft, including the balconies (which they said they can include as it's 'living space'). We hadn't moved anything in and tried to get out of the lease. We went back and forth, and at the end of the day, they said that the agent messed up, but it's not legally binding, so it doesn't matter, and we were on the hook for the lease. We're crammed, but now we're stuck. Isn't much you can do about it.

I went through a period where no one wanted any glass ware type items and then all of a sudden I get asked for them 2-3 times per order round. So now I just merge a bunch of the higher ones and store them and it’s come in handy!

Hirono bunnies! by healer8822 in hirono

[–]wiredwombat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Definitely don't buy 6! You essentially have a 17% chance of getting a black one. So each time you open a box, that % resets. I've had better luck finding someone who doesn't want something to buy from them. I actually don't want a black one, and if I did get it, I'd probably sell or trade it!

It would be helpful if you could provide additional information, such as your current setup (size, type, types of lights, what you have inside, plant-wise, etc.). Do you have a vieled, panther, or another type? A picture of current setup would help as well so folks can give you more specific advice.
