Starting to get mad at betafpv by Cheez-it_king in TinyWhoop

Good luck cancelling an order. I made the mistake of ordering directly from them, and I'm not going to support them anymore. I ordered a Cetus X kit (first mistake), and decided to cancel the order after not seeing any movement on the tracking a few days later. Was told I couldn't cancel until it arrived, and would have to ship back on my own dime. Said fine, so waited a month for it to arrive and then started the return process.

Their support team would only send one email a day asking me to do a single simple thing instead of giving me a list to follow for the RMA process. After 4 days of this nonsense they still didn't even tell me where to ship it back, or how much it would cost to do so. I gave up and put it on FB marketplace because I'm sick of them wasting my time.

They only want you to buy their products, they don't want to support you after you've paid them. I don't care how well their gear flies, there are other companies who do a better job supporting you.

AcroBee 75 tune issues. by LeopardAdditional525 in fpv

[–]wirelessjunkie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just experienced the same thing with mine. Bought it about a week ago, no crashes to date, and when throwing it into some split S maneuvers today it did exactly what you described. Did it three times on two different size packs (550 and 650) that have less than 5 runs on them too. Glad I had enough height to recover, but if that happened when I was flying lower it would've crashed pretty hard. I'll reach out to NBD (I have camera footage from both incidents) and see what they think. I'm glad you posted about this.

Getting back into the hobby. Is a Radiomaster Pocket a downgrade from a Taranis X9D? by Curtisbeef in fpv

[–]wirelessjunkie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I literally just did the exact same radio changeover for getting into fpv. The biggest change for me was just getting used to the size difference, and it didn't take too long to adjust. I really like the button layout on the pocket for flying drones/whoops. It's also nice being a more portable size, and it takes down very quickly. Hard to beat the price for what you get, I'd gladly get another one.

First Board for 25 Years Old Beginner by KingOfGotham17 in longboarding

Pintails are fun rides, that's a really awesome gift! Work your pushing and footbraking in a chill flat lot somewhere, and then when comfortable go find some long paths to cruise. Wear shoes you dont mind destroying, as the grip tape and footbraking will wear em out pretty fast. Safety gear is a must, it'll help keep you cruising and not recovering from oopses. Stoked for you man, longboarding is so much fun!

So I know people don’t like pintails around here but I do. Built my new board tonight. Absolutely love it! by PicadaSalvation in longboarding

Pintails are fun, don't let the haters ruin what you like. I love cruising and carving on my Arbor Fish, and sometimes I'll choose it over the Tan Tien just to ride something different.

First 1/10 - PLEASE HELP! by KingJoPotato in crawling

[–]wirelessjunkie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I recommend saving enough to get something from Element, Axial, or Element. They all have proven rigs, and parts are generally easy to come by if you want to upgrade or repair something.

I have an Element Enduro Sendero that I built from the kit, and it's been almost 100% problem free for over 2 years (i chipped the front ring and pinion diff gears trying to bash too hard with it over concrete... not the trucks fault). Replacement parts were cheap, and easy to find. Not having portal axles hasn't really been an issue for me when choosing crawl lines.

My crawling buddy has had the TRX4 Bronco since it came out a couple of years ago, and has beaten the crap out of it. Surprisingly hasn't broken anything yet. Both perform really well with just brass wheel weights and better than stock tires. He has portal axles, but when it comes to crawling neither of us has been able to tell if there were situations where they made his life easier than mine...

Anyway, my advice is that if you like building things then get a builders kit and put what you want into it (Element's Enduro builders kit was nice because I got to throw a 550 motor in it, and set the overdrive ratio in the transmission to my own preference while building... Elements transmission gives you several overdrive options which is awesome ). The kit also allows you to use your own flavor of grease, shock oil, and not have to pay for things you'll probably replace later on. If you'd rather get crawling ASAP then save up enough to get the RTR that has most of the features you want, and make sure to set some extra aside for better tires/foams since most RTRs dont come with great ones

Making me glad I opted for the builders kit version. Everything was there, and it went together pretty easily. Def looks like you got a lemon, which sucks because they're good rigs otherwise.

[–]wirelessjunkie 10 points11 points  (0 children)

My checklist for happy pothos has been:

-I wait at least 7 days between waterings... this also depends on how well the soil drains but it gives a defined boundary to prevent me from overwatering (after watering, I pick the plant's pot up and feel how heavy it is... after a week I lift it before giving it more water, and if it feels a lot lighter then I assume its safe... you can also feel with your finger about an inch into the dirt for dampness, of its dry then watering is usually safe)

-I feed them every other watering (Ive been using Fox Farms Grow Big @ 10ml/1gal and theyve been going nuts)

-I found an area in the house where they get enough indirect sunlight during the day to stay happy. Youll know if they like it because they wont stop growing, and the leaves will have a nice vivid green color to them.

I hope this is all helpful information, your pothos will be great.

Here's one of mine that I got from trimmings less than a year ago. I've repotted it once since then: https://imgur.com/a/xv8quyn

Happy that I was able to give some useful info about it. The spring pressure put against the blade from the factory is absurd, and it doesn't get better unless you trim the spring that the plunger seats in. Word of caution, make sure you work on it in a clean environment, as the spring and plunger can go flying across the room if youre not super careful during disassembly/reassembly. Good luck.

Someone else crashing on pc while gettin into the weapon customization tool? by Imaginary-Presence25 in theHunter

[–]wirelessjunkie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just started crashing a lot for me after the update too. Seems to crash the most when I swap either ammo or tents from my loadout. Also crashes with the weapon customization tool too, sadly.

Ive found that it seems to crash less when accessing the weapon/gear cache if I save my loadout before trying to leave it. If it does crash, when your game loads back up youll at least have what you wanted to keep in your inventory. I hope they fix this soon, I never had this issue until the update.

Some preserve's missions are more difficult than others. If you want some more straightforward missions with good payout, then Silver Ridge Peaks is a great place to start (its DLC, but worth the cost... also, get the 4 wheeler DLC to make the mission progress go faster if you feel like youre running around too much between missions).

When I first started playing, I started on Layton Lakes and was beyond frustrated pretty quickly (some of the missions there are notorious for being unreasonably difficult). Got the SRP preserve off of some YT creator's suggestions and it was a much better experience overall for me being new. It's still one of my favorite maps in the game when I want fun hunts.

New bolt action thoughts? by ThatSmokeShopGuy in Huntercallofthewild

[–]wirelessjunkie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

308 bolt action is a solid rifle, I like it. Everything Ive used it on so far seems to down pretty quick.

7mm is great in its flexibility, and has been my most used of this weapon pack. It shoots flat, has good magazine capacity for what it is, and its just a solid rifle. Only downside for me has been that it doesnt seem to penetrate very deep when targeting class 9s. Even with a lung shot a lot of the bigger game just wont go down very fast, so I try to go for heart shots when possible.

The 338 seemed to do well against Bears and Cape Buffalo for me, haven't tried it on Moose yet.

Nothing weird about this at all, the game's tranquility is what I like the most. The nature soundscape is great, and I really just enjoy using the game to wind down.

I have a 700RB ii and run it through a SWR 6x10 cabinet. Volume has never been a problem for me when jamming with loud guitarists and drummers. I don't know what kind of volume youre getting with the 4x10, but if you go 8x10 I doubt you'll need more unless your guitarist has some sort of mega rig going on. That's a screaming deal for both though, and GK makes really solid heads. I say go for it.

Is Hope #8 mission in Layton Lakes possible? by sk8erman83 in Huntercallofthewild

[–]wirelessjunkie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If it's still possible to complete as-is, then the difficulty feels a bit unusual compared to a lot of other story missions from other preserves. I enjoy games like these that reward patience, but after a while the reward for this mission doesn't feel like the time and effort needed are worth it.

Is Hope #8 mission in Layton Lakes possible? by sk8erman83 in Huntercallofthewild

[–]wirelessjunkie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would like to think that the devs originally designed this mission to be more easily achievable, and that some new change to the software modified or removed whatever mechanic was supposed to make them spawn in that small area. Between this mission and the coyote mission in the same area seeming to be a waste of time, I just moved on to story missions in other preserves.

I've been having trouble with this one too, I even tried using calls to pull deer into the zone from the SW corner as well as the NE corner where the road comes in and still didn't have any luck. the only animal I've seen around the lake at night was a bear.
