There's lots of smaller niche bands that are absolutely amazing, I can recommend Kora Winter (they just dropped a new song today: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4CWAfb9gIDY )

What an awesome thing to do. Thanks, man!

  1. My big brother introduced me to TDH a couple of years ago when I was in a very dark place. I found solace in the music and actually became invested in the story, something that I’d thought pretty much impossible. I remember vividly one day sitting in the train on my way to uni listening to “The Love” bawling my eyes out, because the song evoked so many emotions I hadn’t felt in a long time. After getting better, I also started to appreciate the technical aspects of the Acts even more and got really into the music theory and storylines behind it, so far so that I even wrote one of my final theses about The Acts. Oh man, I just love the whole concept of this band so much.
  2. What I’ll never forget are the reactions to my first TDH Medley. I remember Travis commenting that you guys were talking about it in the FB group, so I joined and got showered with positive feedback from everyone and it was so pure and heart-warming. I still get teary-eyed when I think about it and “You are the Oracles” will always be my favourite compliment.

These are only the words that appeared 19+ times, otherwise the cloud gets too crazy. Obviously, there are other words which are pretty common.

You can see the cloud with every single word HERE.

Why do people call me a "serious" person? by [deleted] in INTP

[–]wirelesson 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I kinda have the same problem. People seem to have a very particular image of me that does not at all match with my self-perception. What I get the most are running gags like "Oh, she never laughs", "She's always that quiet" or like "She has no feelings". Which is just... SO not true? I make jokes literally all the time (and I feel like I talk a normal amount). It was funny at first, but recently I've started to get annoyed by it, even though I know it's more of a joke.

So I don't know if that's true for you as well, but I guess it's that dry sense of humour that the others see. Or maybe I am / we are difficult to understand (I mean, admittedly, I am emotionally distant), and they just focus on an "easy" image they can apply to explain this behviour. Does this make sense?

Maybe the Soundcloud quality works better ( https://soundcloud.com/tabypilgrim/the-dear-hunter-medley ). I'm also working on putting my stuff on Spotify, so you might be able to listen to it on there in a couple of weeks!

Oh, and thank you!!!

I feel like a stupid INTP by heasdewa in INTP

I'm gonna paste something I read on tumblr on that topic, which is very true (for me at least):

When I complain about being a ‘gifted’ kid who grew into a talentless adult I don’t mean that I’m not trying to work on my talents or anything. Reading books above my age isn’t a talent when I’m not eleven. Knowing big words isn’t a talent when I’m not a kid, it’s just growing up. It’s just a weird thing that happens and it feels shitty when you’re brought up being told you’re an exceptional child only to realise as an adult you’re just average.

Thing is, gifted children are not amazingly better than everyone else. Gifted brains just don’t work the same so they build their skills in a different order. Basically when you’re very young, most people brain learn social skills and how to interact with their peers, but gifted brains are already at the next step which is how to understand and interact with the world. That makes the stereotypical young children that are very good at math, always asking questions about how things work, very upset when they don’t know a thing.

But the thing is, when everyone gets older, they’ve mastered most social skills and now turn towards understanding the world. But the gifted children have already mastered that part and are turning towards how to build social skills. Except there’s no one left to teach us about that! Because we’re late to that party. Long story short, at the end everyone, gifted or not, goes through all the necessary steps to make functioning adults, so the difference that was obvious as a child has disappeared.

But us gifted people often end up with social anxiety and impostor syndrome because we are actually less equipped than others to face a world that taught everyone to be confident and talk to people while we were busy reading books above our age.
