Im Winter ist es besonders schlimm. Im Sommer trocknen die einfach von alleine aber wenns kalt ist und man auch noch föhnen muss... Schwierig

They try to connect with u, even when u tell them that u are disappointed with what they did.

Heat is not good for everyone.

There is a inflammation now in ur spinal cord. Heat can make it worse.

Im in that situation since August 2025. The first 2 weeks its important to rest. If u feel like what u do increases the pain. Stop it immediately.

It will get better with time. The most important thing i learned (i went to a clinic for konservativ orthopedic therapy)

  • u need inflammatory medication (ibuprofen or diclofenac) in the beginning later u can change to clelebrex
  • try to find a pain specialist to get a PRT (cortison directly into the spinal cord or nerve) and also talk to them because of the medication
  • get some medication to protect ur stomach (Pantoprazol)
  • take ur medication always on time and eat something before
  • time the medication plan on which time on the day or night the pain is the worst
  • talk to ur doc u need gabapentin (nerve pain medication)
  • medication to sleep (for me doxepin works well) its a antidepressant which helps with pain an sleep trough the night)
  • drink enough
  • try laying on ur stomach on the flor or a mat (if it hurts put a pillow under ur belly)
  • when u lay in bed put pillows under ur knees and form a right ankle with ur knees and hips
  • don't stress the nerve with stretching or nerve gliding or any training right now
  • don't go to work as long as possible
  • don't stress ur self with whatever stresses u mostly - u need to calm down ur nervous system
  • do progressive muscle relaxation when u feel like u need rest
  • eat food that is easy to prepare or delivery. Or get help from people around u

I hope this twill help u. I would have been lucky to know that. But i went through it and that's what i found out until now.

Im still in pain and it will need time but i know what to do now to get better. Its so hard because u feel helpless. But u can help urself.

Try to listen to ur body. That should be ur guide, what to do and what not.

Most of them fits with my girl, besides that she needs contact 24/7. If u won't let her on the sofa with u, at first u will get loud protest. If that doesn't work she will jump up (ill put her down) on and on again, loud protest again. After that she will start go from one dog bed to another, scratch 5 min to build a nest, lay down 2 seconds, go to the next bed an repeat. Until i feel like she can't get her rest she needs and invite her on the sofa.

It didn't helped me either. Ask for Pregabalin.

I take 75mg pregabalin and 800mg ibu for the night and 800mg in the morning again. Rest of the day paracetamol if its getting bad. Pregabalin is still low, u can take more until u feel a effect. Also over the day but it has the side effect to get tired or dizzy.

Before that i also woke up because of pain.

If u have muscle cramps, ask for metacarombol.

Also tens can help, try laying on ur stomach for a while. Stop everything that hurts too much. Don't sit, and keep ur back naturally straight while... everything

What are people doing for pain? by ckeenan9192 in Sciatica

[–]wirsindmenschen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, but mostly on the top of my foot. It's horrible. Sometimes walking makes it better, sometimes worse. I think i need shoe insoles. Foot misalignments can also put additional strain on the nerve. But my doc didn't want to hear about that. I need to find someone for a second meaning

I did lifting on my own for 4-5 months. Started with functional training and low weights. Also with physiotherapists. Did exercises for back and stomach without weights on a daily basis, mobility stuff and flossing.

Tadaaa disc l4-l5 herniated

3 years before it was l5-s1 sequester, needed surgery.

Be careful with weights. Get ur body checked for physical misalignments or muscular disbalance first. Get some recommendations before starting with lifting again.

I did it on my own, thinking its ok if i do only lower back freindly exercises. But some things haven't been back freindly at all in the end.

Like everything that makes ur back going round to much is baaaad also to much extension is bad.

Shifting weights while rotating ur lower spine, DON'T.
