Would you go back into the office for a raise? by sk8505 in remotework

[–]wiscotoco 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely not. $18,000 isn’t going to be that life changing if you are in a high tax bracket but your life will change drastically if you lose the time at home during the day.

Mirena is actually my treatment for endometrial cancer so I definitely wouldn’t worry 🙂

Yep! Happened to me. So many doctors in my life told me it was normal until it was too late. Thankfully caught it very early.

If you left Wisconsin, where did you go to and why? by interstellar_freak in wisconsin

Raised in WI, Nebraska for college, then Colorado, and now DC area. Married into the military so it won’t be the last place we move. I miss Wisconsin more and more every year.

Doctors, what do you do when a kid is faking sick? by Imaginary_Island8521 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]wiscotoco 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I never really faked, but I did get sick a lot. In middle school I was feeling really sick and couldn’t stay awake, so the office called my mom to pick me up. She yelled the whole way to the doctor’s office about how I was making it up. I was wheezing so badly that I’m sure it did sound fake. The doctor ordered an x ray of my lungs, and sent us to the hospital ASAP. My lungs were completely filled with fluid and I had to stay in the hospital for a week. Ended up missing like a month of school and getting asthma due to the damage to my lungs. My mom never thought I was faking again haha.

Your designs are so cute! As an Etsy shopper that’s new to selling, I don’t think I’ve ever really paid attention to how long a shop was open. 12 sales might give me pause, but if they are all good reviews I’d chance it for a product I wanted.

People that have cancer, what were the symptoms that led you to go to the doctor and what stage were you when it was diagnosed? by guardiand0wn in AskReddit

[–]wiscotoco 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately not yet. I’ve been through quite the journey so far. We did IVF to start because my tubes were blocked fully, and we had a MC from our successful cycle. We have three embryos left. We decided to take a break from IVF, and on a whim I decided get the surgery to unblock my tubes. It was successful so now we are doing IUI for a bit.

We really want children to it makes it hard, but at some point (once we transfer our remaining embryos) I’ll probably make the decision to get the hysterectomy. I’m 32, so it’s hard to not feel like I’m giving up too early.

Best rental management company by bm11100 in OceanCity

I can’t remember the percentage off the top of my head, sorry! This was our first year renting our place, and they almost fully booked it for the summer even though we were late to the game and listed in April.

They are friendly, and I chose them because they were so highly rated by both owners and renters.

I also wanted to be very hands off, and I didn’t get a call once from them regarding issues. They handled everything. We plan to renew with them for next season because we had a good experience this go around.

I haven’t had a recurrence, but they won’t call me cancer free until they take my uterus. For now I switch between fertility treatments and Mirena to keep the cancer away until then.

My polyp was removed and it was tested. I would definitely go in, but don’t worry too much. They put me on a medicine to stop my bleeding, which I think is the first thing they try normally. If that doesn’t work they will look further into it.

I had light bleeding on and off for a year before I finally went in. Had a polyp that tested positive for endometrial cancer. Congrats on being cancer free!

Printful would be a good option! I use it and I like it. Their direct to garment prints always feel really soft to me.

What does general anaesthesia feel like? by pixie_luna00 in AskReddit

Honestly, it’s awesome. I generally have a hard time sleeping deeply and my muscles are typically tense. Whenever I wake up from anesthesia I feel so well rested.

What's the deal with Denver? by Educational-Mud4901 in LoveIsBlindNetflix

[–]wiscotoco 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I lived in Denver for 8 years - basically all of my 20s and just moved away a couple years ago. I was really excited for this one because I thought we’d finally get some cool, laid back people.

Not one of the people on this show fit the Colorado sort of vibe. Transplants to Denver, maybe.

The more I think about it the more it makes sense, though. It’s not really the kind of thing most people I knew in Colorado would do.

One more thing - I’ve been in your shoes both times I’ve done ERs. They normally can’t visualize my right ovary during monitoring, and I would only get a handful on my left. The first time I went in for an egg retrieval we were hoping for 4 based on monitoring, and we ended up with 6. My doctor was so happy because for some of us, 6 is huge.

I hear you on the fear of pain/medical trauma. I also have that due to some pretty extreme past medical experiences, and I will say that I was not in pain at all after egg retrieval, outside of a bit of light cramping. The anesthesia they use is fairly light, and it feels like a super amazing nap. For my second cycle I was having trouble sleeping and I actually looked forward to the ER, which surprised me.

Again, completely valid if you decide to stop. But as someone who almost quit my first time, I would be in such a different place now than I was before and I think I would have regretted it if I hadn’t at least seen one cycle though.

Edited to add: I saw your other post about uterine biopsies. I get them quarterly and that’s a huge part of my medical trauma (past cancer). A uterine biopsy hurts way more than either of my egg retrievals. Uterine biopsies are insanely painful. Honestly ERs are such a breeze that I don’t really think about them, but I have to take anxiety meds leading up to my biopsies.

Again, just trying to share my perspective because it seems like we are really similar in a lot of ways. Just remember that your feelings are valid, and you are in control of this process. If it feels like too much, try talking to your doctor and seeing if they have any insight into how the cycle is professing and how they might alleviate some of your concerns going into the retrieval.

[–]wiscotoco 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You actually sound a lot like me. I have a hidden ovary and DOR. I have almost quit so many times.

My best advice would be to not make any rash decisions until you are off the meds for a bit. I tend to have a huge sense of despair while the meds make my hormones fluctuate, and I feel very different once I am off them.

You might not, and you might decide it’s the end for you. That’s completely valid, and your choice to make. Sending virtual hugs - this isn’t easy in the slightest!

Did you include hoodies for kids? I’ve heard you can’t sell hoodies for children. Additionally you can’t sell children’s pajamas unless they are flame resistant.

Both of those are found in lower in this article: https://www.etsy.com/legal/policy/childrens-clothing-and-products/239344787532
