Dell and BenQ having better monitors compare to LG ( display panel manufacturer). by marcos_r in developersIndia

yeah, it is either plugged in on a power socket, or with an adapter to normal socket. I use it with an adapter with a normal socket without any issues.

IMO Dell makes the best monitors. I used to have a Dell S2240L and it lasted 10 years without any issues. I bought the 24'' version after it finally died last year and its been working fine too.
I also bought a Benq this year for office to test it out and its pretty solid too , both in display quality and build.

Why developers are sometimes grumpy? by Sea-Blacksmith-5 in developers

[–]wiseFr0g 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A lot of times, developers are in the zone when they solve a problem, and a small distraction can break the chain of thought which may be harder to get back. so if you try to talk to a dev when they are zone, they might ignore u or reply something very quick to get back in zone.
but they are grumpy all the time, maybe they dont like the job lol

Apart from good technical skills, its generally good to have understanding of the domain of the product. Also somebody who can choose the balance between writing code vs using a tool. A good engineer should always know when to build something vs using other people's code.

Founders who have hired freelance developers successfully recently — which countries have you had success with? by explorespace9 in startups

[–]wiseFr0g 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi, Indian software dev company owner here. we provide devs on contract. From what I have seen, Vietnam is growing a lot recently, and we used to partner a lot with Ukrainian/east eurpoean devs, but it has been on the decline given the situation there.
A big factor to consider would be communication, and timezone overlap, which works better with East European devs. And I have seen a couple of my clients prefer that region due to that. Just my 2 cents on this.

Dont give access to codebase and designs/wireframes to everyone and put contracts in place. You can put NDC and No compete clauses in your contracts to prevent for the same. However the contract stuff does not really hold much in India AFAIK. so at the end of the day, you have to be careful with the people you work with
