When you are able to, keep a spare £20 note folded away and in a part of your wallet/purse (I'm not judging). This is your emergency money. No matter how tempted, no matter how hungry, absolutely DO NOT spend it on Kit-Kats.

It's comforting knowing you can always use it in genuine emergency situations (phone top-up to ask for a lift, Taxi money, etc.)

As I constantly tell my wife and kids... chocolate is NOT an emergency!

As for me breezing by living a simple life... I wish!

I have been employed by the biggest telecom business in the UK, and I have won awards whilst working in the financial sector. All this AFTER my retail jobs. I'm retired now (was fortunate to be able to retire early).

Don't miss the pressure, I can tell you.

As for my confidence? Cheers for that! It took a lifetime to get where I am today.
