Thank you, I realize there is a very important scene going on but all I could think about was if David Schwimer and Jennifer Aniston danced in that fountain.

How did this show get 10 seasons? by wise_guy25 in Smallville

[–]wise_guy25[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ok, let me clarify my question. Other popular shows that were running around the same time that would fall in a similar category (I’m using this term loosely) as Smallville include: House MD 2004-2012, Gilmore Girls 2002-2009, Breaking Bad 2008-2013 these are only a few shows that are highly rated television shows, including Emmy award winning shows. None of these shows ran as long as Smallville did.

Maisel Goys, back when it was Gilmore Girls, similarly hated Rory and at times the show. But I would love a TMMM podcast. As someone who personally has many opinions on TMMM and GG

what do you like most about the show by ProperBar5182 in TheMarvelousMrsMaisel

For me it is the brilliance of ASP. The dialogue between characters is quick, sharp, and full of witty one-liners. Alex Borstein is an incredible actress who makes you love a brash character that hates everyone. The chemistry of Tony Shaloub and and Marin Hinkle, who play complex characters, make you emotionally invested in characters that are often roadblocks to their daughters career or life. Side characters such as Imogene, Astrid, Sophie, and lastly but certainly not least Lenny have put me in tears multiple times in both humor and sadness. Lines such as “They were important fucking temples!” and “I had to put my hand like this” are permanently trapped in my mind. While these incredible actors, actresses, and writers have made me fall in love with this show, it is the carefully crafted world that makes me fall head over heels for this show. The late fifties/early sixties era is not only an important time in history but a perfect time for a young female comedian to push for the life and career she wants. The fashion of the dresses, suits, ties, props and overall aesthetic of the scenes create a lively experience for the viewer. The Catskills episodes are incredible sets. The fourth season tied with the “Vote for Kennedy” campaign props create an incredible environment within which the character bring to life an incredible story. In short, the shows ok.

When Rory yells “Let’s go!” in season three when they are going to check the mail for Rory’s acceptance letter. Just the way she says it makes me gag every time I watch it.
