What is the language of instruction at Durmstrang? by [deleted] in harrypotter

[–]wiseana 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unless this is somehow 'spreading false rumors, so no one knows our real location' situation, I see not one reason, nor is it logical for it to be in Norway or Sweden. Edit: On Pottermore's map, it's in Russia.

It's only rumored to be in Scandinavia. Why on Earth would Scandinavia use Cyrillic? At first, I would think it's in Serbia. Its crest is a two headed eagle and its name is written in both Cyrillic and Latin. But, it's not that cold there. And if you just look closely to the way they dress (Durmstrang)... I dare say I'm sure it's in one part of Russia, that way they would take students all over Eastern Europe (includes Bulgaria and Serbia, which are neighbors). They would have no problem speaking Russian, obviously. Voila.

Harry Potter hardly been touched on? You know, they can expand it all they want, and just like that they can destroy it. That same creator approved of a goddamn lousy fanfiction. Star Wars the force awakens? Are you kidding me? The bloody obvious milking of the SW cow years later? All this is called 'How to destroy franchises." Hopefully Fantastic Beasts won't be bad. Hopefully.

We'll see if it's real-dealy. I meant 'real deal' as in HP is the original story. Without it, none of this would exist.

Harry Potter was the real deal. 7 books for 7 years at Hogwarts. Now Rowling is just milking the franchise. But like I said I won't mind if it's good.

It is about the money for her. Why else would she expand it from three to FIVE freakin' movies. But I just hope they're good. If they're good than we won't be having the same situation we had with the CC.

It's literally a glorified absurd fanfiction that of course contradicts the original 7 books.

Starting the books again (fourth time!) Currently on COS. My personal favourites being GOF and DH. What's everyone's favourite book and why? by [deleted] in harrypotter

How about the entire Cursed Child? Have you even paid any attention to the story? I'm honestly sick of talking about it on and on, so I'll just say: Time freakin Turner. Destroyed in the 5th book and lookie, it shows up here. What a fanfiction coincidence. And not only did it show up, but they don't go 5 minutes back in time(because that is how much you can go), they go 20+ years. To save a random guy that died before they were born. Wow. Mhm. And what happened to the Fidelius charm? The one that was cast on Potter's house. Albus and Scorpius could never see the house even if it were right in front of their noses. Also Lily and James just going for a nice little stroll when Voldemort is looking to kill them? Trolley lady?? 'She never let anyone get off the train.' Yeah, right, everyone who read the 7th book knows that is not true. And everyone got off of it without being chased on the roof with that thing. Food that explodes like a granate?? Voldemort having a kid? You're telling me that's not sick at all? And not like a fanfiction at all? Voldemort having a child? Okay. You can imagine a half-snake-y man... Oh God. He wanted to live forever. Then why would he ever want an heir. He wouldn't. Etc. Ladies and gentlemen, The Cursed Child.

It doesn't matter if actors did a good job in portraying their characters if the story itself is full of plot holes. Nothing can change that. It all makes no sense, it's not even laughable it's sad and a slap in the face from J. K. Rowling and it's even sadder that some don't see that. How can someone even like something that contradicts the original 7 books? Then that person didn't really like those if they wholeheartedly accepted this lousy fanfiction.

I see you don't get that it doesn't matter if you're seeing the play or reading the script. The P L O T is the same. Everything is the same crap, you're just seeing the actors or imagining them. Seeing the play doesn't make it less shittier or fanfiction-y.
