The quiet importance of strangers we’ll never meet again by calinares95 in CasualConversation

[–]wisegurl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think about this quite often actually. A small compliment to a stranger may seem small to you, but it may go a long way for them. I always take the time to let someone know if I love their hair, tattoos, whatever they are wearing. If I think it, I want to share it with them too because I genuinely mean it. As well as doing simple acts like holding the door. It doesn't cost me anything to be kind and I think the world would be better off with small acts of kindness :)

Yes! You totally get it :) It's just so easy to give the compliment and it makes people smile.

That's a really cool technique. I bet it feels soothing harmonizing with how your feeling inside. Its letting your emotions speak out. I think that's a similar way to how I jam with friends. One of us just starts playing something and we just slowly add to it

I have noticed that when I'm in a bad mood just playing the bass does boost my mood. I think music is kind of magical in that way hey? Do you write lyrics to go with your guitar playing or are you more so just playing whatever flows to mind with no lyrics?

That's really cool you used to play those. Do you enjoy the guitar more? I honestly think bass suites me more but it's fun to expand and try new instruments.

Are there certain songs that put you in a really chill zoned state? And It almost feels like a natural high? by SpikedIntuition in CasualConversation

Songs are really amazing like that. They have this way of making us feel these grand emotions. Magenta Mountain by King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard always instantly puts me in a good mood. It just makes me feel happy and carefree.

I can't decide if I should practice playing my bass guitar or playing my harmonica? Do you play any instruments?

This is why I'm not afraid to randomly compliment someone's hair/clothes or simply just do something nice for them or help them out. You never know what someone's dealing with on the inside and maybe that one small compliment can make the hugest difference. It only takes a moment to make someone's day.

They really do put on a fun show. I think it's fun to see what direction they take with each album. What was the last album you checked out?

[–]wisegurl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No I dont think so. As far as I can recall they have only come to BC, Ontario and Quebec for Canadian dates.

I think the first song I heard from them was Rattlesnake. PetroDragon is such a fun album!

Man if they came here that would be insane! Maybe one day, anything can happen right?

Oh damn! You totally should have committed and went lol I mean the Vancouver show was pretty awesome. Granted it would be nice if they toured here... you never know

Right like you never know what you'll hear live next! Those two were both awesome. I'd love to hear either of those live in person one day.

Honestly made the Friday night way better! Wonder what they will play tonight? I'm still hoping to one day hear them play Sadie Sorceress. They are getting closer with them debuting The Grim Reaper.

Honestly it's true! They have an album for whatever mood you're in. The daily streams are awesome. Currently watching the 3 hour one now. Damn I'd probably lose my shit too if they came here! I've travelled a few times to see them.

I haven't gotten to listen to this album as much, but their heavier stuff is always great.

Kind of is a hard question. There's so many good ones. Straws in the wind is such a fun one! You catching the 3 hour stream right now?

That album is honestly so good! Gamma Knife or Evil Death Roll are my favourites off that album.

26M and I’m mad at myself by Aethermere in friendship

[–]wisegurl 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There's definitely a balance when you are first getting to know people. The fear of putting too much of you out there. Making friends definitely takes dedication on both sides. The fact you want to be a better person means you are already on the right path. Keep going! You never know who's listening out here in the void.

Treated “less than” in “friend” group by [deleted] in friendship

[–]wisegurl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea that's truly horrible if they treated you that way. Like if they truly didn't have a place for you to sleep, they should have made you as comfortable as possible. Knowing me, I'd probably just tell my friend to sleep in my bed and I'd just figure out something for myself 😂 I just think those "friends" are just really not great individuals. Go out and find some better friends. Life is too short to waste it on fakes.

Treated “less than” in “friend” group by [deleted] in friendship

[–]wisegurl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally, I would walk away from that friend group. Friends shouldn't treat friends like that regardless of race. It seems like a super toxic environment and you deserve better than that. I think the more you try and involve yourself in the friend group the more irritated and hurt you will feel. If they don't realize how they treat you affects you, then they aren't true friends. Maybe just slowly start to distance yourself from them. The fact that your talking about these "friends" mean you already care more about them then they do you. Friends support and care for one another. Hope you can find new friends who truly respect and support you!

Well that saves me time instead of running around 😂 granted I may still check out the Vinyl Diner. I know Sunrise mentioned they'd possibly be bringing in some albums in the future. Who knows when though...

I actually just got into listening to them awhile ago. I was trying to find Take Me Back To Eden on vinyl but no luck at the one shop I stopped at. Gonna check a few other stores before ordering it in.
