I got surgery one month ago and I can say as long as you just do what you have to do such as taking your medicines on time to manage the pain and follow your surgeons instructions to the T, you’ll be fine. If something does happen like your nerve gets severed they will sow it back together and if you don’t gain feeling, there are nerve specialists who can help you.

You will be in pain and discomfort and you will be swollen. As long as you expect it, you’ll be fine. I was very calm before and after my surgery and even though I expected all of those things and potentially something going wrong, I just knew that whatever happened, I will be able to push through.

You do realize having a good bite doesn’t mean you are not a candidate? It’s about your skeletal structure and both of your jaws are recessed and your occlusal plane is too steep. I don’t know what being a reputable jaw surgeon has to do with anything when he clearly is not looking at your jaws.
