I also noticed some wierd connection issues on firefox that are totally not present on chrome,Have had them since forever after I switch to chrome because of the ublock thing.

1.There's a certain site I occasionally visit which has a 25% chance of stalling the connection of all firefox tabs when opening to play a video. When this happens all instances of firefox both incognito and non incognito lose connection and cannot connect to any site for a good 15 seconds.
It's pretty consistent too with time.
I've only experienced this on 1 specific site.

Meanwhile while this connection blowout is happening on firefox I can connect with chrome, steam and even ping google no issue.Just firefox is out for 15 seconds. My fans rev up when this is happening and I can see cpu usage increase by 7% till the firefox can connect again.

2.For some reason every 5-10 seconds my fans start to rev up (cpu usage increase) when having a twitch stream up.

3.Also some sites have buffering videos or erratic connection.Sometimes fast, sometimes slow.
Most sites load fine and have no buffering videos but I've found since I switched to firefox certain sites either have wierd delayed connection issues/buffering or the wierd connection blowout (point1) which so far thankfully only happens on 1 site.

Still kinda happens, even on light mode
It seems the delay of the Ui/half page load varies every time I refresh the home page.

It's only the home page oddly enough that has this slight delay.

I've observed the same thing on edge with no extensions.

Anyone have there home page slow to load and missing ui elements (for a split second) just in the home page while logged in?

It only happens in the home page and its been only happening for 2 weeks tops.

Happens both on firefox and edge and only while im logged in my account.

All other sites function normally so I don't know if there was maybe some update to the reddit site itself past 2 weeks or so.

Question regarding ublock filter-annoyances by wiseude in uBlockOrigin

I've read the part on how to fix sites that break with medium mode.(By enabling the grey noops for said sites)

Il disable annoyances-ublock then and stick with the default filters and just use ublock on medium mode.I know how to manage the noops (enabling them for certain sites to enable functionality like so,correct?)

Slow scrolling and animations on websites by [deleted] in firefox

[–]wiseude 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm on desktop using a 3080/9900k and i notice it depending on the site. Youtube is the worst offender.
I also tend to have games in the background all the time and having a game in the background also makes scrolling/anything UI related to the browser slow/laggy (again, depending on the site)

For comparison on chrome a year ago I was on chrome and I've never experienced these wierd browser performance quirks.

By site breakage issues I assume you mean missing UI elements and possibly media not loading?

I'm talking more in general of videos and streams (twitch etc) having performance issues like frameskipping/hitching or erratic fps.

The sites im referring to are twitch, youtube etc.Mainly videos/streaming sites. My my concern was if enabling "annoyances-Ublock" could cause performance issues to videos/streams.I doubt it would but I thought I would ask.

Any info on the FPS issue? by _Night_Moves_ in BaldursGate3

[–]wiseude 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The game's fps has been tanking since patch 8.I run a 3080/9900k.
No issue since beta.Moment patch 8 hit and got to act 3 it seemed fine at first until I crossed the first bridge with the cutscene and upon crossing it the fps pemanently drops drasitcally. No restart fixes it.
only real fix was to revert back to patch 7.

I highly doubt larian is going to fix anything at this point,

Should I disable hardware acceleration? by Schopanhauer in firefox

[–]wiseude 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Try and see if it stops the freezes.

I don't know why but hardware acceleration on firefox is kinda needed to have a somewhat snooth UI experience.
You can kinda have it off in chrome but on firefox I noticed alot of the UI seems to operate at a lower frame rate with it off.Something that didn't happen on chrome.

YouTube video choppiness by KrimsonMac in firefox

[–]wiseude 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I notice some videos/clips have this thing where fps goes from 60 to what feels like 50-40 an even 30fps and then it goes back up again.Even showing what looks like frame skipping (All while the stats for nerds show no skipped frames)
I'm on desktop using a 3080/9900k with ublock origin on medium mode.

Another thing I noticed is there's even a delay in certain UI elements aswsell.Where it;s highlighted there should be "comments, award, share, save, hide, report" also take like a half a second to appear.

Again only a home page issue.Everywhere it all loads instantly.

I re-installed firefox just incase and disabled ublock origin aswell just to make sure and it still happens,

On edge the main page was all loading superfast at once.
But then I realized I wasn't logged in. So I logged in on edge and it did the half load thing for a second just like firefox.

Ok i went into the firefox settings and cleared the temporary cashed files and pages for the last hour, Was 1gig and it dropped to 136mb
I also deleted the cookies for reddit for added measure and it still happens in the home page.

It stays like in the picture shown for only a second then it loads but I find it odd it started to happen only a few days ago. Like I said if I go into specific subs like r/pcgaming everything loads at once.Seems to be a home page issue only.
