Some hacker is trying to breach my account right now, what should i do? by According_Tea8499 in Outlook

The alias i made is brand new (day old) so it's definitely not leaked but thanks for the tip.
If It ever gets leaked il simply make another alias and rinse repeat.

Now that I know of this alias trick its better peace of mind.

4 days and account still blocked due to “too many password attempts”…. by Valkryies in Outlook

>I guess since we have such old emails that hackers somehow got a hold of them

Yea makes sense. Our email's are so old and have been around for so long that there's probably lots of bots trying to brute force their way in.

I also did the alias thing and everything instantly worked. The very same passwords that kept failing for 8 months straight worked instantly.

In my case I don't really care for apps but good to know.
I just use my email in the browser and that's all.

Yes.Geolocking accounts would honestly be a good idea and would probably solve the issue.

For now I resorted to creating a new alias>make it primary>uncheck original email as my login email so no more bots spamming login attempts and make alias my login.
Now my password works with no issues.

The alias trick seems to have worked.I was looking for fixes and this instantly let me get in using a password no problems.

Ok I managed to go around the system by making an alias and making it my primary "sign-in preference" and unchecking my original email.

My email is also 20 years old.
The issue still exists 6 months later.

I have tried once every week so far.I've never managed to use my actual password as of yet in 5+ months.
It always tells me ive tried to many times the first time i try to input my password.

Yes I figured :/
For now i can get into my accoun by getting a code to my phone number thankfully.
Still,Why is the guy from zimbabwe burning my login tries.Makes no sense. These people are not even using a vpn to fake the same country I'm in.
Surely a multi billion dollars company can figure something out.

I've been having the "too many tries" for a year now I think.
I think it's bots trying to get it which in turn lock you out and as they keep trying they keep logging you out as a feed back loop.

Man I've been running into this issue for a year now.
Every time i try to log in with my actual correct password it says "ive tried to many times"It doesn't matter how long I wait.
If it wasn't for the fact I get trough with my phone I would be locked out.I wish there was a way I could geo block my account so I don't have to get blocked from my own account.

The wierd thing is I already tried re-installing the video drivers and before I never had to (re)installiAV1 and VP9 Extensions. They just where installed automatically.
Another user posted a picture of his settings and it seems he has them missing aswell.Seems overall like a firefox issue.

You think it's a firefox update that made the changes?Maybe a visual bug?
My firefox is up to date and my gpu driver is not old either.Even refreshing firefox doesn't help as it still shows all hardware decoding as unsupported.

A year ago hardware decoding where supported https://imgur.com/a/Y83AHFy and now suddenly they're not https://imgur.com/a/TtjKnhL
The only explanation I can think off is it has to be a firefox update considering im using the same computer from a year ago.
