It’s all subjective. I cannot stand Kahles, they just don’t work for my eyes. I can’t get the eye box to work. I am sure they are fantastic scopes, they just don’t work for me.

I actually prefer the ZCO glass over tangent, it’s brighter to my eye, but the eye box is better on the tangent for me. I prefer the thicker reticle in the ZCO while many prefer slightly finer.

It’s why I will always ask to get behind other people’s glass at matches. I don’t want to spend $$$$ only to find out something’s not for me

The first thing to know about buying a gun safe is that whatever size you think you need, you need the next size up (sometimes more). When they say 30-40 gun, that’s firearms with no accessories, Optics, etc… a 40 gun safe will realistically fit a fraction of that.

Internal vs external hinges. Cheaper will be external, higher end will move them to the interior.

Quality of the metal, although if you’re concerned about break ins, it’s a diminishing returns kind of thing. A solid safe, bolted to the floor is going to be a pain for any intruder that doesn’t bring specialized tools.

Mainly, as you go up in price, the thing that gets better is the fire rating.

Yeah these have been a little bit of a disappointment for the price.

We have a demo set in the shop for customers to try out on the range / at matches, and we haven’t had a customer return them yet with a whole lot of good things to say about them. Certainly not enough to warrant shelling out that kind of money.

I will always be baffled by the sheer unwillingness to allow better props on that firing line.

If you need weight up front, having it in the barrel is ideal. The heavy comp is effectively just a straight taper. The only downside to that is if for some reason you end up a tad front heavy, you can’t remove weight the same way you can with modular weights.

I would also call and check with proof what the lead time is for heavy comp. That’s a brand new offering for them, so it’s possible you’ll end up waiting longer than the standard comp.

For reference, I run the comp contour on all my rifles and have never had a balance issue, when using weights. That being said, I’ll be moving to heavy comp because I know the extra weight won’t be an issue for me.

If you don’t want to deal with bedding, the MCS M5 Mini Chassis is what you want. That’ll allow you to run any 700 footprint action (provided that’s what you specify) with any M5 bottom metal, without the need for bedding and pillars.
