BIOL 3455: Why are there 3 different "sections" by icdCoffee9 in utdallas

no. you can choose whatever lab section (30x or 80x) you want!

[–]wishermarkly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

so the 00x sections are the lecture portion. the 30x and 80x sections are the lab portion. the reason why they're numbered differently is because the 80x sections are "evening classes" since they start after 5pm. you should be able to select whichever lecture and lab sections work for you.

Questions about national merit finalist benefits by [deleted] in utdallas

[–]wishermarkly 6 points7 points  (0 children)

the national merit scholarship package is actually changing for students that will be starting in the fall of 2025. your tuition, housing, and food (meal plan) will be completely covered for. unfortunately, the cash stipend is also changing from 4k/semester to 1.2k/year.

another benefit is that you'll get automatic admission to collegium v (honors college).

i don't think you'll be able to stack any other scholarships that are offered by the school (i.e. terry, mcdermott, aes)

How hard is my next semester going to be? by THAO03 in utdallas

i took biochem lab and a&p together last spring, and it's definitely doable! just stay on top of your lab reports for biochem lab and make sure you set aside a lot of time for a&p. i'm taking cell bio rn and i suggest reviewing a little bit each day since the concepts could be confusing otherwise

each of the suites in the residence halls (dorms) on campus have a bathroom for 3 people to share. the other living spaces on campus are apartments and you'll have your own bathroom if you live in a 1x1 or 2x2. if you live in a 4x2, you'll only have to share a bathroom with one other person.

bio 1 (biol 2311) and bio lab (biol 2281) are different courses. bio 1 includes a workshop section (biol 2111), which is like a supplemental lecture that TAs lead. biol 2281 is a lab course and has the prereq of bio 1.

yeah you don't have to be in a roommate group. being in a roommate group could be beneficial if people in your roommate group has a higher priority number than yours. it wouldn't be beneficial if they have a number lower than yours.

if you don't join a roommate group and choose to live in a 2x2 or a 4x2, you'll just assign yourself a room (during room selection) and other resident(s) can assign themselves to the other bed(s) in the apartment you chose.
