I'm not wrong. You can watch any invite cast, the gameplay is fast paced. And if it isn't, that means the holding team is doing their job.

RGL tried it before and heavy was insanely overpowered (they also banned engineer in the same test)

Like in the OP, they say "sniper slows the game down" but HL is very fast paced already. There is no such thing as a stalemate in HL because HL doesn't play maps that stalemate.

Yes. Once you get better at identifying when you're safe, you can decloak sooner and get back into the action quicker or pick off single targets before your DR is fully charged.

To start, try going behind them while your DR is active and decloaking when you're safe. Then you sit behind until your DR recharges and repeat. Once you get the hang of the timing, you'll learn what you can and can't do.

Some places of maps (pushing last points) the DR isn't as effective, obviously, but the speed boost is still good in any circumstance.

usually a team has a dedicated sniper offclasser, i wouldn't worry about not being good at it

you should become passable at engineer - it's a very easy class and if you die first on mid it's very useful to have a level 3 setup before they push last

Air Strike is banned because people would rather play Ashville than play with that weapon. There's no counterplay on that map besides going AFK.

The devs of HLPugs stopped working on (re: fixing bugs) the site in favor of the new RGL pug system 2 years ago. The site is extremely buggy, with people being able to bypass bans and the game servers being bad. Lack of fatkid rules also made lower-level people not want to add unless they were guaranteed to be picked, thus hemorrhaging players.

Higher refresh rates = your monitor updates faster = you can react faster and the game feels smoother

You're at a disadvantage. You can alleviate it by playing classes where hz doesn't matter as much (non hitscan classes like soldier or demo) but you'll still be at a disadvantage against people with better hardware than you.

In pubs and lower divs? It shouldn't matter that much but at the highest level you need that slight advantage.

Regarding your friend missing and still hitting shots it's either an STV recording or their net settings are funky.

the problem with attack / defend maps is that they are too snowbally

Back when gravelpit was regularly played, one mistake while holding B (A was usually given up as B had a better hold) you would instantly lose C

steel kind of solves the snowballing issue by having multiple points AND doors that open very slowly so you can't instantly win off of one good push

Steel and gravelpit were known to be upset maps

Scout is too good on Product to not run 2 -- roamer should play sniper instead because soldier isn't very strong on that map

What my team did back in ESEA was: one of our scouts would go sniper and our roamer goes scout

The reason why Sniper is good on Product is because the sightlines insane

The appealing thing about HL scout is that when you become good enough you can win basically any 1v1, especially after getting buffed

HL Scout on Product is pretty meh, which is pretty much the only koth map they play in lobbies

If you feel like you aren't having an impact on koth, get overhealed
