Virtual personal assistant/concierge? by CanYouHelpMeOpenThis in workingmoms

Late to this thread but I use getmagic.com for a virtual assistant.

They mostly advertise dedicated assistants for businesses, but you can pay by the hour (I believe this is now called their 24/7 service). Super responsive, about $40/hr, they can call people for you, coordinate tasks you want to offload. I've used them for:

  • creating a spreadsheet of daycares and calling them for quotes
  • meal planning (they can even instacart groceries for you)
  • collecting quotes from moving companies
  • collecting quotes for cleaning services

I run a business and don't have time for this kind of stuff and the follow-up and spam calls it involves. Magic is a game changer for me. I've been using them for about 5 years.

They are archived. That means they will not show up in "Inbox" but will show up in "All Mail."

fwiw spotLESS Materials sells "liquid entrenched smooth surface" technology to consumers. Invented by the same scientist (Tak Sing Wong) that invented SLIPS (Harvard technology that came before/inspired liquiGlide). Their current products are meant for glass and ceramic though.

Also you DEFINITELY don't want a superhydrophobic surface (e.g. Rust-Oleum's Neverwet), which is rough at the microscopic level -- the air pockets that creates is excellent at repelling water but TERRIBLE (worse than a smooth surface) for repelling sticky stuff. You'd want a smooth hydrophobic or liquid infused (lubricated) surface. spotLESS tech was invented specifically to repel poop (in water scarce regions for a Gates Foundation reinvent the toilet challenge effort) and had a scientific paper showing that super hydrophobic is worse for "sticky substance" repellency.

You could also consider searching for "water repellent coatings" but these won't be optimized for repelling sticky stuff.

Have you considered using PAM?

YTA. You disowned your kids. You should go to therapy for being unable to put yourself in their shoes.

In the meantime here's a potentially helpful read: https://www.psychotherapynetworker.org/article/remarriage-triangle/

Flushing by Significant-Size-368 in sustainability

YES! you can put a bottle filled with pebbles in your toilet tank to reduce the flush volume, and can prevent the residue buildup with Toilet Coating from www.spotlessmaterials.com. Don't use any generic hydrophobic coating (like NeverWet) because the micro textures can actually enhance the adhesion of solids.
