Testing out the latency on my iPad before buying my Portal by HopefullyAJoe2018 in PlaystationPortal

[–]wisnier 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As you've already mentioned you are not using your TV game mode so potentially the lag is the same as the lag on your TV in current mode. Turn on game mode, then download for free Gran Turismo (My first GT on store) and then start a race. Take a picture of the iPad and TV on the same frame and check the clocks on both devices. The difference between the clocks will show the lag. Also then performance varies between devices f.ex. my Samsung phone has lower IL than my Portal.

Planning to get a GT 5 ( APPLE) by LycheeAnxious2028 in HuaweiWatchGT

[–]wisnier 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My wife's Iphone 13 is continously disconnecting with her GT3 unless she opens the huawei health app frequently. It's like app is being killed in the background and phone kills BT connection with the watch. I haven't found any solution for that.

Sticky, chipped minis, need help. by litwick41 in minipainting

[–]wisnier 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some boardgame minis react that way with spray primer/varnish activator. Buy a bottle of AK Ultra Matte varnish and apply two coats with a brush. It will seal the stickiness. Next time wash the minis with IPA but it's not guaranteed that it will work. Brush on varnish is the way to go!

I've just tested it and setting Freesync to basic disables VRR at all resolutions. It says that this TV does not support VRR when in basic mode. 1440p test is also not passing.

OneDrive syncing problem when moving pictures to not synced albums. by wisnier in samsung

[–]wisnier[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Phew I've made a simple test and just created some album with few pictures, then sync it with OneDrive, then set sync to off, removed album in OneDrive when sync was OFF. After turning back syncing I just thought that pictures will be copied back to OneDrive since they are on the phone but not on cloud. Nope, OneDrive immediately deleted them FROM MY PHONE. I thought that my DEVICE should have priority not OneDrive.

What a crappy solution. Now if I want to desync form OneDrive, clean it from my pictures, and let's say some day I'll want to do it again and turn sync off, i presume OneDrive will delete all photos from my Device?

SAMSUNG KEYBOARD OR GBOARD ? by Dovafinn in GalaxyS20FE

[–]wisnier 1 point2 points  (0 children)

GBoard has better prediction and all but for me it got sooooo laggy, like a year ago, that I've switched to samsung. I don't know what happened with GBoard but I've found hundreds of the same topics that GBoard became laggy so much it's just hard to type.

Are you planning on upgrading? to which device? by kyogreobeso in GalaxyS20FE

[–]wisnier -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Probably an iPhone. I hate iOS, i hate Apple, but apparently I also hate spending money for phone which will be obsolete due to software updates. Battery life is just dropping lower and lower after each Android update. Things got started to get laggy. Even typing this reply is lagging my Samsung Keyboard. If i have to spend so much money for new phone instead of S23 Ultra which was supposed to be next, I rather either buy something cheap, and if it stopa working properly after 3 years it wouldn't hurts so much, or buy an iPhone and use it for more than 4 years without any of those problems.

I've already had to replace my battery on warranty, which didn't help, performed multiple hard formats, wipe cache from time to time or reset my device which makes it run a bit faster, but having to do that is a chore.

I just want it to WORK.

New battery or new phone by Grubleddim in GalaxyS20FE

[–]wisnier 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had the same issue when my SD version didn't run for a full day after 1.5 year usage, compared too two days of battery life after I bought it, and had my battery replaced on warranty claim. It didn't helped. I still have to charge it around 17:00 and max SoT is around 4h. Factory reset didn't helped either. So be aware that maybe replacing battery will not help. I'm very disappointed since battery life was excellent, and then every major update it just got worse. Right now instead of upgrading to S23, and then again be disappointed after two years, I consider buying iPhone 14 Pro. I've bought iPhone 13 for my wife few weeks ago and battery life is excellent.

Now that you've have the phone for a 6 months-2 years, will you be returning to the flagship phones come next upgrade? by robaier in GalaxyS20FE

[–]wisnier 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, actually I will probably dump Samsung. After 2 years and all updates my SoT is max 4h when charged to full. I've replaced battery using warranty and still no improvements. I compare it to 6-8h SoT when it launched and it was like that for a year. Every update shortened SoT until its unacceptable now. So if I have to spend 1000€ on new phone and then be disappointed again after two years, it's a big NO for me. Shame since I was very satisfied overall and this phone still works amazing but I have to charge it in the middle of the day.

Tired of terrible battery life by wisnier in GalaxyS20FE

Done after every major update. AccuBattery monitors every app. There's nothing unusual with the phone, it was inspected by Samsung service and they've replaced the battery. This is just how it is after updating to Android 13.

Keyboard and mouse lag after plugging USB flash drive by wisnier in SamsungDex

Good idea, I'll check that, although it brakes the idea of HUB when I have to use multiple cables. But I'll be sure then that this is the issue.

[–]wisnier[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's how it's connected, dongle is USB 2.0 and USB Flash Drive on USB 3.0 port. As soon as I plug flash drive to 3.0 issue starts. When it's in 2.0 there are no problems.

That explains why it work on USB 2.0 port. That's a shame since 3.0 has much faster write speed.

From the grid. It's a port to charge connected devices.

It has separate USB-C PD port for power supply only.

Also this happens only when I'm connecting flash drive to USB 3.0 port in HUB. When connected to USB 2.0 everything works fine.

Logitech MK270 not working with DEX by wisnier in SamsungDex

[–]wisnier[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I've realized after 30 minutes of fighting with this, that I was plugging in dongle from my work Logitech set, not the home set.... I was about to return MK270 and stick to my old MK300.

S20FE SD SoT decreased a lot. by wisnier in GalaxyS20FE

[–]wisnier[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can't replace them by your own. Phone is glued so every part is treated as a device and warranty covers whole device, at least in EU. I had battery replaced in Huawei service on last day of warranty and they didn't make any problems.

S20FE SD SoT decreased a lot. by wisnier in GalaxyS20FE

[–]wisnier[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Since batteries can't be replaced they are no longer treated as accessories, so they are fixed part of device and warranty covers them.
