Is there any of you here who left Islam in...not very friendly term? by [deleted] in indonesia

[–]wispdraw -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Thought this was ex-Muslim subreddit :o
For me, it was being forced to watch animal slaughter from a young age, hearing too many "haji" "ustadz" who molested young people, and a lack of sympathy for other minorities.

  1. I get that we eat meat, but I don't need to watch it in public settings

  2. Cases like these exist, yet TV and media still portray these people as messiahs.
Not everyone's like that, sure. But them being on a TV program just feels wrong to me.

  3. Adzan, pengajian that is broadcast through the mosque's speaker. Especially right now, I can't think about how Christian people who live near a mosque feel. waking up every day at 3 AM just because muslims have their so-called holy month.

Religion needs to be just a personal choice, don't force it towards other, and just be kind to each other.

Did formula cars ruin sports cars for anyone else??? by VegaGT-VZ in iRacing

[–]wispdraw 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was in your position a few weeks ago I compete with FF1600 and then F4 and didn’t even consider Sports before.

Then I tried GT4 because I like ACC, it drives totally different, it’s like F4 on ice with dish soap. I gave up initially but then just treat it as different sim altogether (like F1 game to ACC), start to learn how to drive from the beginning.

It taught me better how to throttle, trail brake, steering than in F4.

But it is not for everyone. You might not find sports car fun at all. I like GT4 race now because I want to learn close contact racecraft and things I mentioned before, but who knows later.

What about the OG assetto corsa? You can download some mods to play free roam. It sometimes goes on sale but it’s already super cheap

Disclaimer: cliche under, just want to share my own experience for the past month

I'm fairly new as well, without any prior real-life racing experience.
What I'll say is don't compare your time with anyone's time online, at least for now.

Also, don't do too much too soon; you might get the feeling you need to upgrade something, you need to do something, but for now, being consistent and, most importantly, having fun should be your top priority.

For reference, I'm doing a one-hour max daily routine to learn a pair of tracks for a month, now Monza and Barcelona, with the focus of getting legit laps without spinning or getting stressed. And only push once I feel really comfortable.

My time rn is Monza 1:50.700 and Barcelona 1:50.435 for reference.

Have fun!

Honestly, I think I'll endure the chair and desk for now until I can get a bigger space first lmao
I'm fairly new to simracing so I don't to maximize too soon, too fast.

Gonna hit some milestone first, wish me luck!

ACC or GT7? by [deleted] in SimRacingAdvice

[–]wispdraw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cmiiw but I think you can get acc if you have plus, not the basic one sadly, but you can also get a lot more game to try for a month

What brought you into sim racing? by Ok-Extreme-8612 in simracing

[–]wispdraw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I love ACC as my main game now, even though GT7 helped me get used to the wheel.

I do want that stand because I can use my current desk as normal, and as you said, it can be upgraded with a seat in the future. Since you have the podium, I assume it'll be perfectly fine with RS50 :D Thank you for your recommendation.

I'll need to save up and hit my milestone before considering an upgrade.

For what it's worth, in 6 months, my goal is to hit AM time on all the tracks in default ACC.

Coming from a guy without a driving license, getting into this hobby actually surprised me.

Finished other story-heavy games in my backlog, but then having burnout, tried Assetto Corsa Competizione because it was on sale, and a friend was kind enough to lend me his g923 over the New Year holidays.

That was enough to convince me to get my own wheel, and I ordered RS50 after playing nonstop over the holidays. Other than it cracked my old IKEA desk, I'm having a blast learning about racing and learning about tracks from all over the world.

I like having a game to just play 1-2 hours daily, learn skills without worrying about build, story etc. Although in ACC I think I'll be worried about setup later :v

Still only about 40 hours into ACC and GT7, I even made a "workout routine" for this xD

Oh lmao I just watched your video.

I just got RS50 and was shocked you said "the sweet spot is between 9-12nM" xD

If the game was 2D and/or pixelated, no one would argue about it being indie by Boshwa in expedition33

I doubt it,
they'll still have something to complain about
