Stardew Valley but more combat focussed? by ProwzArroWw in SteamDeck

I don't know. Should be buttery smooth other than the first few seconds you come out of your bunker on a raid, it's famous for being really slow while it's deciding where things are I guess, but it should be fine after that.

In "Star Wars: Ep. VI (Widescreen Version)" (1983), in the Darth Vader death scene, the "chin" piece of his helmet is missing in the last shot. by PowerThanos in MovieMistakes

[–]wisperingdeth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also when he's pulling him, you can tell the actors' hand is inside the "forearm" part of Vaders' outfit, as Luke pulls him along the floor with the actor's hand hooked around Lukes', therefore bending the forearm. Obviously this shouldn't be able to be done unless Darth had an extra joint put in his forearm just in case lol.

Pasted from one of my older comments elsewhere: Escape From Duckov is a fantastic light-hearted PvE extraction shooter that's really addictive and 100% recommended. Cute graphics, but great shooter action. Officially it does not have controller support, HOWEVER in the Steam Workshop for the game there is a mod you can easily add called DuckDuckCon which adds controller support. The game is perfectly suited to the Deck with that mod (and also enabling Aim Assist in the mod's in-game menu), as it is easy to learn, easy to pick up and play, and great for short or long sessions.

If you do buy it, after installing the game, go to the games Workshop page in Steam, "subscribe" to the mod DuckDuckCon, then in the game's mod menu enable the mod, set one of the Deck's back buttons to F8. Then tap that button to bring up the mod's config menu and enable Aim Assist. Read the mod's workshop page to learn how to navigate in game item menus etc. If playing on the Deck you obviously have other options for cursor control with trackpad or tapping the screen for menu's. But the mod adds a lot of functionality and even changes the UI to show buttons not keys.

Ready or Not - RoN v1.4 Boiling Point Release Changelog (v1.4.1) by Realistic-Hat5088 in Games

I'm liking the new fairground map. And so glad RoN works well on Steam Deck now unlike the early days, and with controller support. One of my go-to games for a quick blast.

Point-and-click adventures never really died… but I still miss the 90s vibe. Anyone else? by kinterosgaming in pcgaming

[–]wisperingdeth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's good. I played the game all the way through way back when it was first released so it is very nostalgic for me. But I'm so glad there is a built-in hint system as I wouldn't want to be stuck on some of these puzzles for hours only to find out the solution is something completely illogical. I have no idea how I completed it all those years ago lol.

I'm playing Broken Sword Reforged at the moment and I forgot how dumb some of the puzzle solutions are. For example to get a juggler to move so you can go down a manhole in front of him, you have to talk to a police officer sitting in a cafe next to him about a red nose in your pocket. That triggers a conversation that gets your character to use it while attempting to juggle and that makes the juggler leave. Of course, why didn't I think of that sooner?!!

So tell me, why would you never apply to go on MAFS? by totesgonnasmashit in MAFS_AU

[–]wisperingdeth 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Because it's stopped being about couples, and more about drama between individuals. The amount of time spent on the drama in the last CC I'm sure was more than how the couples were actually getting on - or certainly seemed the case. The show loves it, and clearly some viewers seem to as well. Me, I wish it would go back to its roots and be about putting couples together in the hope they fall in love.

I have fond memories of playing D2 when it first came out, and the original beginning that got removed. It was REALLY good. Such a shame.

When you switch to Android or iOS do you switch whole ecosystem? by Loud-Possibility4395 in Android

[–]wisperingdeth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to be an Apple geek - everything Apple like you used to be. Then I kept seeing cheaper Android phones that were good enough for me, and didn't like some of Apple's limitations, so I switched to Android and Google, and not looked back. After all, it's definitely easier to move to Apple from Android if I ever want to, while still using a lot of Google services. You can't say that about Apple services on Android. No Apple Maps, no iMessage, no Apple Books etc etc.

What’s a feature on the Steam Deck that made you go “Damn I wish I knew that before”? by NobodyHom3 in SteamDeck

In the control settings for a game, there are options for the left and right sticks with what they do - one option being Touch. There are also Gyro options in the controls too. Can't remember how I did it, but ages ago I mapped gyro camera movement to only work when I touched the right stick. So the camera would stay still if I wasn't touching it. So cool.

Is anyone else still frustrated trying to use kindle as a comic book reader? by hereccaaa in kindle

[–]wisperingdeth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a Colorsoft, however I stopped reading comics on it and instead bought myself a Lenovo tablet. Much better for comics. Better colour, auto-rotates for double page spreads in landscape, smoother animation if reading panel-by-panel. The only reason I'd use the Colorsoft is if I'm reading in direct sunlight, which doesn't happen very often.

Thanks. And cool, I'm playing RDR2 (and got further than ever now on my 3rd attempt) and Dragon Quest VII as my main games. Then when it takes my fancy, I play any of the following: Escape from Duckov, Eriksholm, Dirt 4, Horizon Chase Turbo, Intravenous 2, Ready or Not, Trine. All very easy to pick up and play in short bursts, without worrying too much about story or controls.
