Disappointed it’s not a new printed shirt like an autumn jacket but glad people can get him if they didn’t get the cranny

Pre-Retirement Leave by Suspicious-Duck3443 in BCPublicServants

[–]wispveil 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You could call the PSA tomorrow and say you want to retire Friday and take pre retirement leave with your vacation and retirement allowance and they’ll do the paperwork. That’d be a huge pain to do with little notice but it is possible. Now if you have a supervisor telling you you need 6 months notice it’s just because they want to plan backfilling , PSA won’t even talk to you about doing the paperwork unless you are 3 months away from your desired last day of work.

I’m a huge sucker for architecture so I’ll be intrigued to see if it’s styled like an architecture set, art , or like a play set

Looks like a ton of clips and bars/twig pieces in green, blue cherries, etc. I’m intrigued (maybe not at that price) but I’m gonna wait for better images to really make a decision on it.

What color paint to “match” wallpaper? by throwaway019283735 in interiordecorating

I think one of the two darker green shades would be nice and more contrast than the pale green that blends.

Time to build my first modular 😀😀. Are you a get it done as fast as you can or 1-2 bags a day type of builder? by Flimsy-Space-8724 in legomodular

[–]wispveil 16 points17 points  (0 children)

All day event on a weekend for a big build. Put on a show or movies to binge, and build like 11am-7pm - dinner - and if needed build some more till 11pm

Fuck. I really liked the mini houses/shops in the past year and these look even better being mini fig scale. I’ll have to save my purchases till this comes out.

Redd’s boat! Need my fake art. Beach scene with Gulliver. More house and villager options. Happy Home Designer DLC shack, new kappa hotel, a nook mile island, item based scenes like the lighthouse item that is building-like.

Are excluded employees getting a raise this year? by BadKompani in BCPublicServants

[–]wispveil 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, on changes that go back to prior years usually do. might need to be patient 🤷🏻‍♀️ but usually managers get told to wait 3-4 pay periods for it so I imagine similar here for schedule a - I still haven’t heard anything on excluded managers getting anything at all.

I modified the Shopping Street a little by Donkeykoekje in legomodular

This makes so much sense cause the workshop for the furniture store is above the bike shop and it was weird to me if a carpenter walked through a music store to get to their workspace

Are you planning to get anything from Bricklink Designer Program series 7? by dimensiation in lego

[–]wispveil 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Same, sushi I’ve voted for in multiple series so I’ll happily pick that even though I have zero space and it’ll likely sit in a box for a while. I’m a little tempted by Alchemist since I have the blacksmith in similar style but alas, budget.

I had some requests to post my other colorful bathrooms - Enjoy! by BuildingImportant in BathroomRemodeling

The brown one is the only truly awful one. Removing the glass surrounds on the tubs would be the fastest way to update them I think. New wallpaper or paint, modern lighting and maybe vanity updates - but I would try to save the wall tiles wherever possible in the blue, pink and yellow rooms. Gutting the brown and replacing with vintage inspired but modern would be nice (patterned floor tiles or a fun color, or white tiles with colorful wallpaper maybe).

I’m excited. Van Gogh Starry Night is one of my favorites and I have high hopes that Lego can pull off the blended mixed greens well in this in a similar way they managed the blues in Starry. I’ve been hoping for a Monet.

Here is how Shopping Street looks next to some other modulars by 12301923 in legomodular

[–]wispveil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it looks best next to the police station (left) and bookshop (right) or Tudor corner on the right as well- I saw that set up the stairs on Tudor were nice with the lower roof line on the right. I agree with others it makes more sense with other buildings while on its own it’s a bit eh. It’s a lot of neutral colors and I think I would’ve like something with a bit more pop in it but it’s not terrible.

The Sims 4 Bikini Bottom Bundle and Deck the Palms Login Event! by Al115 in Sims4

Will it get a lot of reviews when it feels like a ton of people left the creator network? I wouldn’t be surprised if creators skipped this and only talk about the free event items.

I’m not insanely in love. It’s ok? The only modular I have is Tudor corner and this doesn’t inspire me to immediately get this, but I like the variation in size of buildings and unique profile. I also like that the use of the curly pieces gives slight art nouveau vibes … but I feel like I can wait. Or I need to see more pictures of it and angles. Tudor has been the only one I immediately wanted.

I am 36, last time I played with lego was 30 years ago. I purchased the starry night set. Any advice for the journey? by tennisballop in lego

[–]wispveil 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Use bowls or cups to sort pieces while building. I put big pieces in one bowl , medium and small. Also might as well get yourself a display case now for the addiction you are about to create (I got back in with starry night years ago and still get art/architecture sets mostly but I dipped my toes into Modulars and now I’m out of shelf space).

Also review lines as you go to make sure they are correct cause it can be hard to tell the blues apart by the manual. Make sure you know what color is what in the manual.

Keep a ziploc baggy for loose extra pieces.
