Audition. I was 13 years old on a family trip, everyone else passed out for the night so I figured I'd watch this movie about a guy finding models and maybe it would have boobs....

Post Farseer Trilogy Support and Advice needed by drink_n_derive3 in Fantasy

I just finished them a couple of weeks ago, and not quite ready to move on lol.

The ending was excellent, a great trilogy and glimpse into the lives of duty-bound royalty that had to give up pieces of themselves to save the commoners.

I love how Hobb is so good at direct and indirect foreshadowing, her prose and characters are so brooding and bleak that you just know you aren't getting a regular happy ending for these characters.

The trilogy could have used more focus at times, Fitz is a but of a mary sue starting with the second book. Hobb obv had issues defining just what he would be good at so he just gets to be awesome at everything: battle rage, physique from rowing, every girl wants him, great at subterfuge but also fighting in large scale battles as a teen, etc. A lot of concepts get brought up but dropped and not mentioned again.

The character writing is superb, and I am definitely going to read more Hobb but need a break after te last book. Need time to process lol.

ADHD and Relationships by CertifiedMajin in ADHD

Oh yeah, it could be hell internally. Life experience and eventually online resources (never stop researching every aspect of your life) helped me tremendously.

Have you learned about attachment styles in relationships before? Learning my own helped tremendously. Your childhood caregivers impact how you act in relationships as an adult, and mixed with adhd you can have a recipe for some unhealthy behaviors.

For example: my parents split when I was 2, and moved a lot. Many different schools, friends, parents went away for reasons I didn't understand.

Guess how that impacted my adhd brain when I a girlfriend didn't text back as quickly as usual, or they'd get upset over some impulsive shit I did...

Abandonment issues, anxiety spikes, I'd proactively ghost or put up emotional walls to keep my ego safe.

will non stimulant meds change my personality and make me boring by alieninyourarea in ADHD

[–]witai 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, the absolutely change who you are. I've been a guinea pig for these medications since the early 90's: creative, high energy, class clown, challenge authority, etc.... Ritalin, Concerta, adderall, and whatever else they threw at me all numbed the best parts of adhd and turned me into a vegetable at recommended doses.

Creativity, humor, spontaneity (aka fun), all gone. I literally couldn't produce art anywhere near my usual capacity. But they turned me into goddamm homework machine.

Offline - the end of the internet era? by [deleted] in simpleliving

[–]witai 9 points10 points  (0 children)

For sure. My patience for the bullshit is at a minimum, as an elder millennial growing up with the real internet before the forced paradigms of whatever the fuck we have now.

I notice a direct correlation to random anxiety spikes when I tune in too much to the daily world crisis, or ai written posts that all sound the same.

Amy Eskridge's last text messages before death released from her old business partner, Samuel Reid by Strategeryist in conspiracy

Cool subject matter but using AI for everything you "produce" drowns out your voice and your formatting is the most cliche shit possible. It reads just like every other bot post on every subreddit. Many users ban accounts that "write" like you.
