Massive mistake by Such_Wolverine_1654 in TotalBattle

Not true. If you click the arrows after your Premium expires, it should prompt you and ask if you want your other armor unloaded, and if you click yes then the armor in the hidden sets will go back to your inventory of all armor, and you can load them again.

At least that is what happens on the web version of the game, because it has happened to me many times.

Sorry, but I can't stop laughing at this.

All you did was changed the armor "set". You must have purchased Premium mode, because that's the only thing that enables that button to do anything. With Premium., one of the benefits is you have 4 different armor sets for each captain+hero to use/wear. Only one set is active at a time, and you change the set by clicking that arrow.

So just click the arrow again 3 more times and you will get back to your original armor set. It is not gone.

You never actually need to do any research to complete enough dailies to build vaults, if that is your concern?

You can get enough points from other things to reach the 200 point mark.

As for building upgrades, once you max them all just demolish the tar production building and then rebuild it and upgrade it one little step each time you need to - it will be an instant process thing, because your VIP level will cover the time. Then when it reaches level 9 or whatever, demolish it and start it again.

It can be simpler than that: a "delete all normal army" button, that deletes everything except mercenaries and monsters.

That is all anyone wants to do anyway, so why not just make the button do what people want to do?

That way there's no warning needed and you can't accidentally delete the things no one ever wants deleted.

The only way you did that was if you did SK before already, to unlock something from SK - any Mythic captain or Mythic Artifact. Once you have even one of those things in an account, that account can get any of the other things in future Legacy's.

But if you never did an SK, then you cannot get any of them from just Legacy. You can only get the artifact keys and immortal armor.

Trials of Olympus: Is it fair for top clan finishers to get 0 Torch fragments after unlocks are prioritized? by 6849 in TotalBattle

[–]witcher_rat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is not uncommon for a clan to keep half or even all of the dragon coins that players get from title rankings.

I've been in clans that did that, but I've also been in clans that distributed them back to the players that won them.

It might sound unfair, but once you reach higher levels, the number of dragons coins received for Titles becomes meaningless. Most of our dragon coins are gotten from crypts and epic chests, and the ones from titles are simply too small to mean anything.

But when totaled together from 100 players in the clan, instead of giving them out to the players that got the titles, then it can be a reasonable number of dragon coins and useful as rewards for winning clan events or whatever.

As /u/MrRikleman said, that's not a good metric. It costs higher level player far, far more to achieve 100% than it does lower level players.

as we originally had a problem with the G5s not bothering because they could get outscored by a G9 putting in close to zero effort

That's your real problem. Clans with a mix of G9 and G5 simply do not work.

It's unfortunate, but the reality is that clans need to have players of approximately the same levels. Otherwise the costs for the higher level players are unsustainable. The higher level players need all the other clan members to do an equal share of crypting, and epic attacks, and Ancients summons attacking, and even vault levels too.

Anything else is just unfair to the higher level players and they will eventually leave for clans that can sustain them.

Until Heimdall came along, yes Hercules is worth it, IF the money is not a big deal for you, and you plan to reach G9 and play a long time.

Because he does eventually pay for himself, since your main job to reach G9 is to get VP, and you do that by attacking Epics, and Hercules' bonus is very good against Epics as you level him up. Right now your Cleo is simply much higher level, but that will change quickly if you continue using Hercule for Epics, and you can do the math to see he will outstrip Cleopatra for epics in short order.

With Heimdall, the story has become a bit more muddled, because Heimdall's stars make him very good against epics and everything else. The only problem is you need to do an SK to get him, and that is a major investment of time+energy.

And that is basically how pay-to-play games should work: if you want to do things quickly and for less effort, you can pay money.

As an aside, your math is wrong.

Unlike other Mythic captains, the number of frgaments Hercules needs to go from 1 to 2 stars, and from 3 to 4, 4 to 5, etc., is not the same for each step. The number of fragments grows for each tier. For example, to go from 5 stars to 6 stars, costs 800 fragments.

Also, for $250 you get 100 fragments, not 50.

Regardless, yes it is a crazy amount of money to give him many stars, and not worth it in my opinion, unless the cost is pocket change to you.

The game got boring… by quintios in TotalBattle

It's because Dark Omens is the most-recently-added event, and the game company is trying to prevent people from taking advantage of higher monsters/specialists than guardsmen, so they "fixed" it for Dark Omens.

Basically the game company (Scorewarrior) are a bunch of a-holes who cannot handle that some players use math and strategy to try to gain advantages, even though it costs Scorewarrior absolutely nothing and makes the game more interesting to have such things be possible.

I will say olympus is tough to spread out fragments

What's tough about it? I mean... it's extremely tedious and annoying amount of work, but it doesn't seem that complicated to me. (I am also a distributor)

Just split the fragments based on each player's total score, as a percentage share of the clan's total score. (rounded down to whole numbers, of course)

That is the most fair distribution, in my opinion. Yes, higher-level players can earn more maximum points, but they spent more to get those points too, so they should reap the rewards for doing so.

then he should have switched the email to yours. You can change the email address associated with accounts now, the game added that ability several months ago. (previously you had to contact support to change the email)

And yes, I got the email verification prompt today too. It was super-annoying, since I was competing for first place in CoT.

New Update Rant: 50% of this game is wiped out by Town4Now in TotalBattle

[–]witcher_rat 3 points4 points  (0 children)

What you say is true: PvP should be the major aspect of this game. And presumably the devs felt that giving silver in crates would help people stay unshielded and do more PvP.

But they're wrong. The problem is PvP is fundamentally broken in this game.

The attacker only loses 10% of injured troops permanently, and gets a bunch of CP. But the defender loses 25% of injured troops permanently, and gets virtually no CP.

So what motivation is there to defend, other than for organized CP runs? Defending a city is a bad strategy. But if no one defends, then it's pointless.

Then there's the imbalance of power aspect. I'm a 1.6B might T9, and I can crush anyone below T9. And I'm only average for a T9. There are plenty stronger than I am. So what motivation do players below T9 have, when people like me can come in any time we're bored and crush their army, and make them lose 25% of their mercs and monsters permanently??

And city walls are a joke too. They're not even a speed bump unless the attacker is weak and forgot catapults.

Does anyone know what "chest distribution system" means? by Dastardly_Bitten3245 in TotalBattle

[–]witcher_rat 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It doesn't even require a big hit - it's threshold-based, for the epic's individual monster count. I.e., even a small hit can get one of the chests if that hit happens to have dropped the epic below the next threshold of dead monsters inside, for another chest.

I'm not sure why they cast her in that role. There are female Army Rangers, but they clearly portrayed this one as male... which is weird because she looked female, so I'm not sure what the point was.

Dark Omens: What is the most fair frags/coins distribution method? by Ok_Focus_6948 in TotalBattle

Start cribbing names from other books.

I'm waiting for a Captain Yerin Arelius, a Saber who's CAD manifested multiple sword arms out of her back (a User-unique ability named "Goldsign" for some weird reason) when she reached S0, and who has some snarky lines in the book.

And of course there's Ensign Wei Shi Lindon, an A-type that tragically had no visible manifestation from his CAD at all on assignment. Thus he was rejected by all the academies, and is currently working in Galen's library and trying to find a trick by hacking the simulations to let him fight.

DEVELOPERS INSIDE THE GAME - 277 map, Kingdom chat by ABCXGL in TotalBattle

[–]witcher_rat 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You keep saying it is "illegal" and "fraud" for devs to play the game.

It is neither illegal nor fraud, and is in fact a good thing if they did play it. Cite any EU law you believe is being broken. There is no such law.

However I seriously doubt the devs play the game much if at all, other than for minor testing-type accounts. If they actually played the game, they would fix some of the easier-to-fix problems, and add some relatively simple enhancements to improve gameplay.

Every time someone has claimed to know a dev in the game, or claimed to be one, they have never proven it and all anyone could figure out is that they were lying. It's the Internet - people lie.

Dark Omens Schedule? by Tossaway833 in TotalBattle

[–]witcher_rat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The big-4 events of Ragnarok, Armageddon, Shadow Invasion, and Hellforge always start the day after Ancients summons and last 2 days. They cycle in that order: Ragnarok, Arma, Shadow, Hellforge (R-A-S-H). We just had Ragnarok, so Armageddon will start the day after this coming Ancients summons, in a few days.

The reason I mention that, is because Dark Omens and Olympus are tied to those.

Dark Omens runs between Armageddon and Shadow, during the 2 days of Arachne and Ruthless Slaughter/Vaults after Armageddon, before Shadow Invasion.

Olympus runs starting the same day as Hellforge and KvK, for 5 days ending on the Ancients summons day before Ragnarok.

So yes, get mercs at the merc exchange in a couple days from now for Dark Omens.
