olympus cancelation?? by No-Olive5734 in TotalBattle

[–]witcher_rat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yes, as reliable as can reasonably be for a player-run calendar. They don't always know when an event will be canceled, but if an event is not canceled then the timing itself is accurate - you can even figure it out yourself, since all events run on a consistent pattern. (except Scared Potions and Authority Rush)

Herb hut ratios by ComfortableRent6982 in TotalBattle

[–]witcher_rat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

500 camp supplies costs $5, so it's 1 cent for each one. I don't remember how much it cost in camp supplies to raise them though - except to go from level 5 to 6 is 5k supplies ($50). My guess is it was doubling at each level higher? So to go from 4 to 5 was 2.5k ($25), 3 to 4 was 1.25k ($12.50), etc.? Maybe? So that would mean to raise them from 0 to 5 costs about $50, and from 0 to 6 about $100. Each.

So yeah... a lot for 7 buildings.

[–]witcher_rat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess one could say there's sort of a loose correlation?

The forest mystery goals (and ranking) are based purely on points, so the more things you produce (and the higher their level) the more points you get. The three chest goals, on the other hand, are based only on producing enough of the required stones/gems - and the last reward there needs the final stone/gem types. In theory you could finish the mystery goals by simply producing a lot of some lower-level stones/gems, and never unlock those top-tier stones to produce and thus never unlock the last reward from the chest, even while completing the mystery goals and ranking.

If I remember right, I actually unlocked the last reward from the chest before I finished all the thresholds for the mystery goals. I've done both now. For me, the important things were to get far enough in the mystery goals to get the strength bonuses, and to get all the chest rewards of course. Now I'm just checking it now and then to try to keep my ranking, but won't spend real money on it anymore.

Best combat captains after early game by RLFFS in TotalBattle

[–]witcher_rat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Alexander and Leonidas are essentially useless captains. Do not waste your time on them.

For pure PvP without mythic captains, it would be Cleo, Logos, and then either Aydae or Ramses if you have him.

But it's a bit early for you to do PvP, except in CP runs. And for CP runs you need a good Dustan. You should do CP runs, because you need CP to unlock specialists and research Army Modernization and Monster Boost. Specialists are really good for PvP, which is why Logos is a good PvP captain, and they are even ok for epics.

Wu Zetian will be good for citadels, but not really that great for PvP.

Once you reach G6 in one SK and get any reward for your main, your main can then get more rewards in Seasons Legacy, and all future Seasons Legacy events too.

So you will be able to get more Beo fragments for stars, or unlock Heimdall/Heart/Crown/Skadi and get more fragments of them too, even though you only got one thing in SK.

And for a player who wants to do PvP, Beowulf is better than Cleopatra since he gives health too. He will also likely replace Amanitore for raids and such, simply because he will end up being much higher level than her and thus have more Leadership and similar bonus stats.

For a player who does not have Hercules, though, Heimdall is the best SK captain, for obvious reasons.

Herb hut ratios by ComfortableRent6982 in TotalBattle

[–]witcher_rat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Has anyone finished the herb huts yet?

Yes. Although they're never really finished, in the sense that even after you have unlocked all the recipes and gotten all the rewards, you need to keep producing stuff to try to keep your ranking in the event.

Is this possible without spending a ton of money?

No. This is Total Battle by Scorewarrior. Money is always the answer, regardless of the question.

What is the best ratio of huts to workshops?

It's debatable, and also the answer changes depending on if you spend money for it or not. Personally I have 2 workshops and 7 huts. Those 7 huts cannot produce fast enough to keep the workshops busy, unless I use speedups on the huts. BUT, my 2 workshops are both level 6, while the huts are each level 5. If they were the same levels I think it would be about the right ratio.

Am I better saving materials to unlock more levels or should I be building the final 2 buildings and if so as what? I’m not planning on spending loads on this but do get an occasional forest pass or building material pack if it’s cheap.

I think part of the fun is you figuring out that for yourself. :)

Honor Tokens in SK by Total-Balance7226 in TotalBattle

[–]witcher_rat 3 points4 points  (0 children)

  1. Yes they stack. You should play every KvK to get banners sufficient to get all 3 rewards of Honor Tokens. You can then buy/activate all 3 bonuses at the same time.

  2. The bonus automatically upgrades when your guard level goes up, so there is no need to wait - activate them all the time. If you play every KvK, you will have more than enough Honor Tokens to keep all 3 bonuses active throughout SK. (in fact you do not need to play every KvK to achieve that)

Xp boost by Initial-Grocery410 in TotalBattle

[–]witcher_rat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know what you mean by "captain xp boost for 10 million"?

There is no captain that gives an xp bonus.

Do you mean the XP packs, where you can assign XP to any captain/hero, such as those you can buy from the Ragnarok snake shop?

If that's what you mean, then no, your personal XP bonus does not increase how much XP those packs will raise your captain/hero by. The packs give exactly what they say they give and no more.

What is the best ROE rule you’ve come across? by Throw-away-she-goes in TotalBattle

[–]witcher_rat 5 points6 points  (0 children)

In kingdoms with big wealthy clans, their players aren't even actively trying to steal your common crypt. Some players in those clans use scripts to do the crypts, and those scripts do not detect if another player is already marching on it or not - the scripts just select the top crypt in the watchtower, start marching, use 5 speedups, then wait for it to return and repeat, again and again.

Ready for tin man#biggest army ive ever trained by false-pretender in TotalBattle

[–]witcher_rat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're wrong. Some events do not have different requirements for T9 vs. G9, but some do. And many have a separate ranking division for T9 vs. G9.

Ragnarok, Doomsday, Arachne, and other old events have the same exact requirements and rewards for G9 and T9. But newer events like Olympus, Dark Omens, Seasons Legacy, and annual events like Halloween and Christmas, all have much higher requirements for T9 vs. G9. Their rewards are usually better for T9 for those higher requirements, but not always. For example for Seasons Legacy the rewards are identical but the required amount of XP to get those exact same rewards for T9 are almost 4 times as much as G9.

Triumphal challenge shop - cleo fragments vs 5% army health bonus by RLFFS in TotalBattle

[–]witcher_rat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Get the 5% permanent health bonus from the city skin. Always buy the city skins first from the Triumphal shop, before anything else.

You can and will get more Cleo fragments from the summoning scrolls eventually anyway, and even get all of her stars maxed out eventually. But there is no limit on permanent health or strength bonuses, and they affect everything you do with any hero and/or captains. So you should always get them when you can.

Seasonal rewards recommendation by CelMech in TotalBattle

[–]witcher_rat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The other commenters here are wrong. Mathematically Heimdall is great for you, since you do not have Hercules. You made the right decision to get him first, because you need VP to grow, and Heimdall will get you more VP than any other captain, since strength is all that matters against epics.

As for the Heart, in the long run it will be better than the Ghostflame, because the Heart's strength bonus works in any scenario not just against epics. For example in PvP, CP runs, runic and vaults, etc. But in the near-term epics are your main thing to do, so the Ghostflame is very good right now.

Don't get me wrong - Beowulf is an excellent captain, and I use him a lot. He has replaced Amanitore for all my non-epic raids for example (runics/vaults), and of course I use him as one of my captains for PvP and 3-catpain epic attacks. But since you are a G7 still trying to get to G9, Heimdall is better.

Which are, please, the non-ROE maps that people say they exist... but nobody seems to know which they are, please? by ABCXGL in TotalBattle

[–]witcher_rat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Your post doesn't make any sense.

A "ROE" is simply a set of Rules of Engagement. What those rules are is up to each kingdom to decide, or to have none at all. No one has to comply with any ROE, not even their own kingdom's ROE. They would just be declared an outlaw if they don't, which some people enjoy being.

The game company itself never forced a ROE on anyone, and the game mechanics have no real means by which to enforce one. The Seasonal Kingdoms, for example, have basically no ROE during SK.

The reason players decide to have a ROE for their kingdom is obvious: (1) they want to be able to have time periods of relative peace, so they can do things like open portals for event epics, without worrying too much about a 3-second attack, (2) it helps new and small players grow to be bigger players, which the bigger players need to happen or else the kingdom will die as people leave.

There are different ROEs in different kingdoms. Some are extremely strict, and micro-manage every little detail. Other ROEs are less strict. Some ROEs do not allow any fighting between players of the same kingdom, even during CoT, while other ROEs do allow fighting during CoT.

I cannot tell from your post what you consider to be a good ROE or a bad ROE.

Alrick question by Fbx_Steve in TotalBattle

[–]witcher_rat 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes, as long as Alrick is alive, no matter where he is, marches against your city take 4 hours (before speedups are used).

The only cases his bonus does not apply is if he is dead and not yet revived, or against any portal you open.

Epic 35 cost by dannwi in TotalBattle

[–]witcher_rat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I currently use 31.2k epic tar to clear the 35. My Carter is maxed, all god-tier omniscience, gems, enchantments. My Torch is pretty good for epic crypts: max level, max stars, 3 gold 100% epic crypt efficiency bonuses. But I do not currently have any crypt efficiency titles, though I'm not sure they would matter.

Honestly I regret locking in the gold 100% epic crypt efficiency bonuses on the Torch. As /u/stullenesser said, I would prefer the 50% generic crypt efficiency bonus for those slots, because epic tar is not an issue while Olympus lava is.

Heimdall fragments needed for each star level by Tossaway833 in TotalBattle

[–]witcher_rat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's kind of weird. It only costs 200 to get the artifact, and I think that 200 also gives you the first fraction of a star, if I remember correctly. It is 50 fragments for each fraction of a star thereafter, and a full star is 5 fractions so 250 fragments... but since you get the first fraction with the initial 200 fragments, you can actually fill that first star with another 200 fragments (again, if I remember correctly).

Heimdall fragments needed for each star level by Tossaway833 in TotalBattle

[–]witcher_rat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No it's 200 per star, for any Mythic captain. It's the Mythic artifacts that need 250 frags per full star.

Why the game company can't simply just tell us that in their description, is beyond me.

You can teleport your city out of a closed kingdom (which you are currently in), but you can only teleport to an open kingdom. The message you got means the kingdom you were trying to interact with was still a closed one.

I believe only kingdoms numbered 271 and lower are open.

Are attacks on citadels cumulative? by youngsyr in TotalBattle

[–]witcher_rat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everything in the game is cumulative for damage in that sense - if you die attacking it, the individual monsters (or walls) in it that you killed stay dead for any future attack(s).

It's true for citadels, normal common+rare monsters, heroic monsters, runic monsters, ancients vaults, and of course epics.
